If I were really getting the kind of activity that Versa indicates it would be awesome. I've had Versa for only about two weeks but quickly realized the extreme overstatement of steps. I spoke with customer service and did some sort of hard reset by holding back button along with bottom right. That seemed to correct it - at least while I was on the phone. But far too often I'm getting credit for way too many steps.
Unfortunately I have a job that keeps me tied to my desk and computer for long periods of time. Although I do move around as often as I can - not enough to get the steps I'm being credited with.
Today, I'm sick and working from home - really not moving much and spending time between conference calls in bed. But somehow have almost 6,000 steps.
I've adjusted the setting to indicate the Versa is on my dominant hand while keeping it on my non-dominant hand. This doesn't seem to have made any real difference.
Does anyone have ideas about what to try?
Thanks

Hello @mharaway, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience and feedback with us. Please note that Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps.
For most users, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device count steps?
I hope this can be helpful, have a great day.
