Hi, I was bought my Fitbit Versa as a present 2 weeks ago and it hasn't registered a single floor yet. I've tried all the suggestions including going up 2 flights in a row, lifting my hand over my head when reaching the top, restarting the device etc. Nothing has worked.

Same here except only had it a couple of weeks. Seems to be a common problem. Very disappointing.

Suspect this reliability issue is simply down to poor Fitbit design or quality control. Why on earth put the sensor on the underside of the watch where its likely to get blocked by skin contact especially when many of us probably assume the watch needs to be fairly tight to get better heart rate readings.

Used to own a clip on Fitbit that always reliably counted flights of stairs but the now much more expensive Versa2 doesnt. Simply not good enough & doubt I will keep it.

Where use the air hole on as versa 2, I don't see anything on the lower left corner.  I'm having this problem too.

I gave up in the end.  I've had my versa for nearly a year and according to my versa I have not climbed a single stair in that entire time.  I tried all the advice I was given, including a full reset. Nothing worked.

My Versa Lite bit the dust a few weeks ago.  Now I have a versa 2, which does count floors.

My daughters just bought me the new fitbit versa luxe. I had had the fitbit charge 2 for several years. Yet with the luxe it doesn't count any of my flights of stairs. It's the same amount of stairs that my old fitbit counted as a flight each time period what do I do?

I'm pretty sure the Luxe does not have an altimeter.  Nor the Charge.

I loosen my band a bit and now it's counting. Thank you. (btw: I had a Blaze for 4 years and it worked great, still does so that's why I checked here why the Versa 3 wasn't counting properly)

Is that registering at my stairs nor my husbands please advise

I don't own a Versa.  Was considering buying one until I saw how many complaints there are about it not counting stairs.  Judging from other recent responses, does not look like Fitbit has  initiated any kind of fix for this problem.  Pretty unacceptable given the number of complaints. I continue to use my old Blaze, which has always, and still does, count stairs.

Mine will count half the floors I do. I'll walk one dog and the hills are counted. The next dog on the same path none of the hills are counted. This morning I ran up down stairs at a nearby park. At first it was counting them, but eventually stopped. It's very frustrating

Yes that is very frustrating. Smh... I've switched to Samsungs galaxy
watch. I absolutely live it... and love it.

I just ran a little over 6 miles. The exercise part of fitbit shows substantial elevation. Many ups and downs of more than 10 ft. How many floors did I get? 13. I hate my **ahem**bit sooooooooo much. It is utter garbage

Awww I'm sorry. Like I said to the last person I switched to Samsung galaxy
watch. I've had nothing but 👍

Labored through 177 step climb at Pensacola Lighthouse, Fitbit booked one floor, the same as on other days I get credit for my 4 steps going in and out of my camper trailer.  Don’t understand why I didn’t get at least 10 floors.

Mine is ignoring our declining to count flights up my staircase at home, at whim.

I've gone up them at least 4 times that I can definitely remember, and have likely made a few trips up i don't specifically remember.... but the "altimeter" has counted 1, and only 1 time today. Other days, it counts every trip.

I've been noticing that it's getting worse and worse at recording time like this, or like my sleep, where I *know* I've napped for an hour or even two (or 3, we've all got covid including my tiny, 3-year-old tyrant, and I'm wiped) but it has recorded nine and still insists over only slept the 2hrs and 26m i got last night.

This is starting to get exceedingly old very quickly,  because I wanted the thing in the first place for sleep tracking and step counting, the latter supposedly being the most basic function the thing has, and it's not doing that right...

The best solution I've found is to switch tk the galaxy watch. All problems solved! I've had zero troubles. Hope this helps because fitbit sure didn't ❤️

I stopped depending on fitbit to count stairs years ago. I live in a house
with tri level stairs, what I have noticed is that even if I go all the way
to the top, it does not count as stairs, just steps.

My versa doesn't count floors and never has. It shows 0 every day.
