I am on my second Versa because the first one stopped responding after a few months and was replaced by FItbit. Today I noticed that the Versa is no longer counting steps correctly. For the same walk to and from work which normally tracks about 7000 steps I ended up at 5400 and I have been walking around the flat for some time now and no additional steps are being tracked. Over the months I always noticed that the Versa was tracking way less steps than the Fitbit one but decided to ignore because I liked the HR tracking, but this is rubbish. I have turned on and off, restarted by holding back and lower right button, no change, I am so frustrated with Fitbit and I am so close to getting an Apple Watch after years of Fitbit and numerous trackers 😞 It is just not worth the hassle, for now I am back on my Fitbit One Any other ideas except the obligatory restart that isn't helping? Thanks

Hello there @arbee! I totally understand how you feel. Thanks for troubleshooting your Versa to solve the step count accuracy.
Since you're having discrepancy with your step count, first make sure the wrist placement settings are correct. Next, double check that you entered your height correctly. Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average.
Remember that the wrist trackers count steps depending on the movement of your arms, when you are driving or for example when your tracker is close to a fan. In these scenarios, your tracker counts steps due to the vibrations.
To get more information about this, check the article: How accurate are Fitbit devices?
I know you've done this, but if after taking these factors into account you still think your tracker is significantly undercounting or overcounting steps, please try a step test:
1. Restart your tracker.
2. Put your wrist-based tracker on your wrist.
3. Walk 100 steps, making sure to count a step each time one of your feet hits the ground.
4. Pause, then check your tracker to see your step count.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Experiencing this problem as well. Used my FitBit Versa 2 for the first time today, these were my activities:
- going to work with subway
- cycle 2 minutes
- work all day in office
- cycle 2 minutes to subway station
- take subway home
- result: 16.000 steps
The daily steps being a "Main Goal", I think this issue should be dealt with as soon as possible

I have done all of this to no avail. I spent over an hour on chat with support, who,by the way, kept having to ask someone else what to do, and all she told me was she could give me 25% off a new one. I am so confused because there was no real trouble shooting on Fitbit part. Theses steps are simple but not solving most people problems which tells me it is a Fitbit problem. Please help. Everyone is laid off right now and can’t afford to just lickety split buy a new one. I too have been a diehard Fitbit fan for years and own 4 but this will be my last if I can’t get some actual effort on fitbits part.
