Although synced and it showed calories, my versa showed 0 miles from my 20 mile ride today?! First time 😕
Phone with me yet showed on neither watch nor app. Suggestions?
thanks, Liz

Hello @Summerliz17 without knowing which of the two possible methods of recording a bike ride, I'm not if I can help,
Did you dependon the auto detect or manually start the bike mode?
Did the Versa show a a good gps connection?

I have the same problem. Two different bike rides. I am starting the bike mode manually.

And what does the map of your ride looks like?

It won't connect, even after disconnecting wifi, restarting phone and Versa. There is no map. My Charge 2 had no problem tracking, even without my phone being on me. Not sure why the Versa needs to connect to my phone when the Charge 2 doesn't. After looking at other posts, it is clear that others have had this issue for a long time and it hasn't been corrected. I will be returning my Versa this weekend and buying a Garmin. I'm sad I won't be able to use the Fitbit app with its calorie tracker, but I need the device to track correct mileage and speed. So disappointing.

The ionic and the Surge are the only Fitbit models with built in GPS and therefore the only two models that do not need a phone connection while recording a bike ride.
Your Charge 2 is not able to measure distance while on a bike without a phone with you and its connected GPS

Sorry @asansing but without the connected gps on the phone. A charge 2 and versa have nothing to reference for speed and distance.

If your not connected their will be an icon on the top of the screen showing you that the tracker is not connected to the phones gps. This is explained in your user manual, found through the help link below.

I am getting exactly the same. Just started riding again & first few rides I thought it was 'me not setting something right' but after the usual several hours in the non help 'copy paste responses' chat support it transpires this is a known error & 'we' (FitBit) are working on resolving the problem.
3 mile dogwalk/hike in the morning & 32 mile bike ride afternoon and dashboard only read I had completed 5.66 miles.
Strava recorded the mileage correctly & that is the really frustrating part as it is linked via my Versa.
So the data is there. It is being recorded by Versa but failing to show on your own FitBit dashboard.
Polar & Garmin worn by my friends record the mileage correctly to their dashboards.

Was the GPS working stirring the bike ride?
You say that Strava has the right mileage, was these miles sent over to Strava or did you use the Strava app to record them?

Yes - set exercise 'bike' waited until GPS connected before setting off.
Fact Strava was correctly updated via Versa says GPS was working throughout the whole ride.

Was the ride summary on the Versa correct?
I'll have to search the app boards, but I have noticed a few comments about exercise data not syncing correctly

Nothing to do with synch. GPS tracking data is recorded correctly as Strava is linked via my Versa account. I can see my rides in full on Strava off the data FitBit is recording.
It is the FitBit Dashboard showing 0.58 miles for completing a 33 mile bike ride.
I'm done with this. Hours & hours in FitBit chats that the retorts are pre written 'copy paste' off a flow chart , You get lied to & at off that chart. Reality to 'we are aware' is 'We don't give a **ahem**' and 'we are working on a resolution' simply means when the chat is closed down?
You are forgotten.
Tracker & brand loyalty. Something FitBit is really big on self promoting but has a zero proactive response themselves to making that happen.
Garmin Fenix 5 procured. I'm out with it 1st time this coming weekend.
I had until this week been product loyal to FitBit since June 2016. Surge to Ionic & finally Versa.
I have had enough now with their bad experience customer services, workouts not recording stats correctly 'if even at all' and this.
This writing your experiences up of FitBit products & faults along with 100's others?
Just to be ignored.
By FitBit Incorporated NOT responding? It just tells you they don't give a **ahem** about you once they has your monies.
Brand reputation will eventually take hold and both Garmin & Polar right now are seeing a surge in sales here in the UK.

@GrubbyDuck they 2 have a surge in unhappy customers as their sales go up.

Thanks for trying to help but you are way off the mark for most of our issues here. Please see the first 2 or 3 posts!

Am having similar issues. The watch is only showing/recording distance/speed when I have the Fitbit app open on my phone. When my phone goes to 'lock screen' it stops recording speed/distance meaning I have to notice my phone has gone to lock mode and wake it up/stop and unlock it... all whilst avoiding traffic so not very safe! Strava recorded a 15km ride yet my versa 2 only recorded a 5km bike ride.
