My Versa has said I’ve had an hour or less sleep for the last four nights. I’ve adjusted the band, I’ve restarted and nothing is helping. It was working fine, I’d have an inaccurate night here or there which I could adjust for the most part and I know is due to the tracker not getting consistent heart rate, but at this point I’m thinking this is beyond me and is the tracker. I’m getting very frustrated as it is inaccurate data and ruining my log and averages. My Charge 2 never had this problem this many days in a row.

A warm welcome to the Community @Trisaratops.
Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. Could you please provide me with some screenshots of your sleep information by following the instructions provided in this post? In the meantime, I recommend editing this data by following the steps in the help article How do I change my sleep history?.
Hope to hear from you soon.

You are not the only one. There are several forums already open to this same problem with no reasonable acknowledgment from fitbit of a problem. I myself had to send mine in to be replaced and 2 days of dealing with tech support. Still waiting on the replacement. My recommendation would be to get the RMA started. Also what version do you have? Do you have the standard or special edition? 3 users have made the connection with the special edition version so far.
I have had a charge and a blaze for the last 4 years with no problems. Versa started having issues out of the box

These are all with edited log entries so that is clearly not the solution to this problem. This also shows weeks where it tracked fine. I got the Fitbit 5/5 and I’m concerned there’s issues with it and it wasn’t exactly cheap. But all that aside I just want it to work. It is important for me to get accurate sleep data as I am tracking it for my doctor.

I have been posting about this for weeks now.
Las night, in the layers clock face, which usually works well, I got an hours gap in the middle of the night when I know I was asleep. Fitbit's lack of appropriate response can actually lead to magical thinking on the user's part, if I jump three times and turn around then it will work.
If I could return mine, I would. I'm hoping for a recall.

Once again- still not reading accurately. I’m clearly not dead from this lack of sleep. This is frustrating and I’m close to wanting to return it. Please figure out what the problem is. I’ve adjusted band thickness cleaned the back of the charger, adjusted the sleep log still shows no sleep- so how much more troubleshooting can I do without something being done at a higher level..?

I am having the same issues as you. My Versa sleep tracking only worked correctly a few times. Now if it shows anything it might say I slept an hour.
This is extremely important to me b/c it is useful to track sleep apnea.
I already did factory reset / fitbit updates / different watch faces/ and tried the manual add 1 minute to sleep log...all to no avail.

I just purchased my Versa & am having the same issues as well. I upgraded from the Charge and it shows my sleep being normal 6hrs and with the Versa its dropped to 3-4ish hours...its also saying im going to bed at strange hours...when I know I'm not...

I’ve found this to work the best—use the layers clock face, turn off quick view, and wear the device snuggle two fingers width above your wristbone. Not perfect, but works most of the time. The question is, or course, why do we have to jump through hoops to make something work that should, well, just work?

No, I don’t touch the settings on my phone. Got accurate sleep tracking last night.
Look what you do Fitbit, you make a bunch of logical thinkers default to magical solutions. 😑.

This is a real problem. According to my Versa I am aceraging 1-3 hours a night. Its crazy! I love my fitbit Versa except for this issue.

This is an issue fitbit really needs to fix. None of my fitbits have tracked my sleep properly despite my following all the instructions on multiple forums on this issue. I've reset, changed the sleep setting to normal, worn it tightly, etc, etc, etc. I've owned a fitbit Flex, Charge 2, and Versa and all three have been extremely inaccurate at tracking sleep.
For example, when I know I've fallen asleep within minutes of my head hitting the pillow at 11 pm, didn't wake up to pee all night, and wake up when my alarm goes off at 6:40 am feeling refreshed, I know I didn't fall asleep at 2:30 am, stay awake until 4 am, and wake up at 5:30 am like my fitbit says. Yes, I can edit the sleep log, but I shouldn't have to do that EVERY SINGLE DAY. If they can't figure out how to make their devices track sleep properly, they shouldn't bother offering a sub-par option. It's dishonest. I'm really close to giving up on fitbit and switching to a product that does what it says it does. These devices are too expensive not to work like they are supposed to. It's extremely frustrating!

Got one last week and it doesn’t track sleep correctly seems to miss about 3 or 4 hours during the night. I thought this would be like the Apple Watch. Used fit bits for years. Very disappointed in this one. I am in touch with Fitbit regarding the fault . I’ve done everything they advise even a factory reset. But it’s still faulty..

I just received mine and started wearing it this week and it is all over the place with the sleep. I had an Alta and it was super accurate and it did not have to fit tightly around the wrist to do so. This is very disappointing.....

Ditto. I kept losing my old "simple" Fitbit, so my wife upgraded me to the Versa, and after the first night, began posting spurious numbers for sleep -- All much less than I am actually getting every night. Thinking about returning it and going back to the simple model, which was very accurate.Everything else seems to be tracking accurately. Very frustrating.

Has there been a solution to this issue? I’m ready to return my versa if there isn’t a way to fix this.

I have only been able to accomplish a manual "work around" for this. Absolutely no help from Fit Bit.... I simply go in every morning and manually adjust the sleep. It re-computes it (somehow -- not sure) and re=-posts it on my fit Bit. Hope this helps.
