I have been up and down stairs all morning doing laundry and it didn't register any of it

Hello @SunsetRunner the Versa doesn't give you credit for going down the stairs. It needs an elevation of ten feet or more to give you one flight of stairs and if you hold the railing, it doesn't see you as taking steps. Could this be the case? If not, try doing a restart of your device.

Hi @BlackMoonRising yes, if your hand that has the Fitbit on it doesn't move as you walk, the steps will be much fewer. It happens to me all the time and I have to remind myself to get the hubby to hold items for me!
