I just downloaded the latest firmware update and my Versa no longer vibrates for texts. I’ve checked the setting on my phone and FitBit- reset my watch and haven’t been able to resolve.

@ParriT, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it won't vibrate when getting text notifications. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Please sync your watch before this in order to avoid losing current data.

Finally, turn off and turn back on the notifications and see if your Versa vibrates when getting text notifications.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Good morning-

Unfortunately doing the reset to manufacture settings did not work. Now I
can’t get my Versa to stop going through the update process. Yesterday
after 5 hours it wasn’t done and my watch battery went to 0.

I plugged it in when I got home and the updates continued. 4 hours later it
appeared to be finished but when I opened the app it said I had to finish
updating before I could use it. I started the updates again to update over
night - watch was plugged in and charging. This morning I see the same
message- update before using.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I’m told I need to update. I follow
the update prompts again. No update starts so all I have is a Versa with
the FitBit logo on the screen.

Any ideas of what to do next?

Hi again- I finally got the update failed message and followed the instructions for troubleshooting, those in the app then when the update failed again, those listed in the “Why can’t I update my Fitbit device?” In Fitbit help.

Im running iOS 12.4.1 so there shouldn’t be an issue with iOS compatibility.

Again any help would be appreciated.

I’m still stuck in the world of trying to update. All I have is a device with the Fitbit logo telling me to open the app. I open the app, am told to update and the device has been updating for the last 6 hours.

Ive uninstalled/reinstalled the app, forgotten the device followed all of the troubleshooting tips I can find and nothing - just the logo.

does anyone have another suggestion?

I have owned 4 fitbits...have always liked them.

Now I have a Versa Lite......BIG disappointment!

I have an LG 7 phone and until the update all was ok...now I have trouble with the notifications....just like everyone else here....

Fitbit knows this...they would have to....my suggestion —

use yours until it dies or you get frustrated and smash it....then buy a different brand....
