Versa notifications not being consistent

Is anyone else having the same issue as me? The notifications for text messages and other notifications were working on my Versa. They now keep stopping. I have to then go into notifications on my app and it keeps saying phone restart. I restart my phone and then it works for a while, then it stops again. I should not have to keep restarting me phone every hour for the notifications to work. It seems Fitbit have quite a few small issues with the Versa.

I do not get an error message.  The messages (text, email, phone, even the hourly reminder) simply do not go through.  Turned off and on again, uninstall, reinstall.  Frustrating.

I checked mine.  The notifications were on.  😕

That makes sense.  I'll make more effort in this observation.

Since the firmware update, my notifications have been working perfectly. I ran with the keep-alive service for a day, then tried with it disabled since then (all day sync enabled, always connected disabled). No issues with either method.

What I really like is that notifications not only sync from the watch and phone, but also the other way, so I can read an email on my phone and the notification is removed from the watch. Very impressed!

My Versa is also working perfectly now with just new version of Android app, 2.71. I didn’t get the firmware yet.

I have seen great improvement with app v2.71 in that I only seem to have to
unpair/re-pair maybe once a day as opposed to multiple times a day before
that, so hopefully once the new firmware comes that won't even be necessary
anymore. I remain optimistic.

I've had my device for 10 days. First 6 days, it worked perfectly with text and email notifications coming through to my device easily and seemlessly. Four days ago, I started having problems with inconsistency with both text and email notifications not coming to my watch at all. When upper right button is pushed, Versa says, "Nothing new here You're all caught up" I get this message when my phone (Android) shows new email and text messages. I thought it could be a result of the Versa NCF Wallet password locking the watch somehow. So I disabled the password. Notifications worked for a couple of hours, then notifications stopped coming. The correct messaging app and email app are selected and given permission in my Fitbit app, Notifications on the Versa are "on." I have powered my phone down 3 times and the watch down twice TODAY alone. Each time, the notifications show on my Versa for an unspecified amount of time, then notifications just stop reaching the Versa. I have a Pebble 2, an Amazfit, and now a Fitbit Versa. No problems ever with the Pebble 2 or the Amazfit. I'm getting so frustrated, I'm ready to return the Versa to the store. The Versa costs too much money to use only as a fitness tracker.

I have tried keeping the APP running without closing the app and the notifications seems to work fine. But the moment i close the app, I see that the "Fitbit is running in background" also got removed and then my notification stopped also. Irritating to the max! So now I just keep my app on but it's really a hassle to keep taking note that the app is running on background. Luckily Huawei phone have a feature to keep lock and app and keep it running but the feature is sometimes on and off. BUT IT IS STILL ANNOYINGGG as sometimes it just close off the app and background also T_T.

Point is, try to keep your app on for those who have issue and see if the problem still exist for now till they roll out the fix. T_T finger cross.

@r1skbreak3r I enabled All-Day Sync and disabled Always Connected yesterday. Only had to restart phone once. Out of 12 texts and 15 emails, I had 3 texts and 2 emails that didn’t show up on the watch at all. While not 100%, it was way better than the restart/shut down/manual sync headache of the past few days. I’m hoping it continues to work. Thank you for posting what had worked for you.

Just moved to the Versa. 5th fitbit over many years and still they can't get notifications to work properly. I even have an S8 now so nothing too sinister.

I was saying exactly the same before the latest app/firmware update, but since then mine has been pretty much perfect. I just have all-day sync enabled now, the new firmware doesn't seem to need the sync service running, yet I still get all my notifications.

Got the firmware a few days ago, and since then things have been a lot better. Don't think I've missed any notification that I can tell. Time will tell.

I do love the dismissal of notification sync between the two devices, helps a lot.

How do I get the filmware?

It will show up in your Fitbit app, they are rolling it out over a couple weeks, so if it isn't there yet, it will be soon.

I've just discovered another setting that was affecting my Versa not receiving notifications: there's an option in the app to silence notifications if your phone is on silent. For some reason this was defaulted on mine and I keep my phone on silent the majority of the time for work.

Mine worked great for weeks.   Now nothing. Phone has a notification saying fitbit needs me to restart device for notifications to work, app says same thing. Absolutely nothing changed from one day to another with my phone. Uninstalled and reinstalled app,  nothing has worked so far. Reached out to fitbit support via Twitter, nothing. Contacted Amazon for a refund. This is my last resort before boxing and sending back

Yep. +1. I'm literally astounded and entirely disappointed that Fitbit still can't get this down. I upgraded from a Blaze figuring they've worked these basics out by now .😑
