Versa notifications not being consistent

Is anyone else having the same issue as me? The notifications for text messages and other notifications were working on my Versa. They now keep stopping. I have to then go into notifications on my app and it keeps saying phone restart. I restart my phone and then it works for a while, then it stops again. I should not have to keep restarting me phone every hour for the notifications to work. It seems Fitbit have quite a few small issues with the Versa.

There are no error messages. Sometimes the notifications work and sometimes they don’t. It has to be some kind of glitch or interference with something and I hope you will be able to figure it out and address it in an update. I’ve had my Versa for a couple of weeks. I’m already starting to get frustrated. I really don’t want to buy an Apple Watch, but notifications are one of my top reasons for getting a smart watch. I need something that consistently works. Thanks.

I'm afraid if you want stability, you bought the wrong device. I had this issue back when the Blaze was launched, and again with the Versa, which I sold a few months ago. Since then I've tried a few including the Samsung Galaxy watches - I'd go with the S3 models over the new one, as they also have issues with step counting and heart rate tracking. I also tried the Garmin Vivoactive 3, but the display on that one is pretty horrible once you've seen the competition.

The one that works for pretty much everything is the Apple watch. I didn't want to like it but that's the one I'm keeping, even though I have to use an iPhone to use it. I have a series 4 and the heart rate tracking is really excellent. Notifications work very well, as does Siri and pretty much everything. My only complaint is the battery life, which is the one thing that Fitbit wins.

You are absolutely right. Totally agree with you. I ditched the Versa early on, and got an Apple Watch 3. Best thing I did. It actually does what it says it will. Also agree that the only downside that I’ve come across so far is the battery life, however I’m getting used to managing it.

I ditched the Versa after two months, even after a replacement, thinking I had just got a dud, but no...I took a deep breath and bought an Apple Watch 3. Best thing I did. It actually does what it says it will do. Am super happy with it.

I've to say situation has been improved a lot in last couple weeks. Since my Versa firmware has been upgraded to latest version (Fitbit OS 3.0) I don't experience BT issues. Notifications works fine, synchronisation works fine, problem with music control gone away - completely different situation.

Still Versa is not as good as Pebble (even classic version) was which means Fitbit didn't learn anything after Pebble acquisition. But I cannot complain on BT at the moment.

I had this issue, and so far, seem to have it resolved... WellW see what happens.

First, disable notifications in the Fitbit App, then turn off Bluetooth, and then your phone for a minute or so.

Turn on your phone, then Bluetooth, and lastly notifications in the fitbit App.

It would usually stay connected for a few hours, bit since I tried the above, it's been connected since (about 8 hiurs).

Hope this helps.

I just got my Fitbit yesterday and I can’t get the text notifications to work.

all other notifications work but the text.

there is no error message.  The text just doesn’t work...

I’ve run through all the troubleshooting “if that doesn’t work then go to the next step “ tips FitBit offers.

I’m seriously thinking of sending the watch back and going with another product.  Customer Support didn’t even have an answer for me.

I am on version 33.1.30 and am still having the issue with notifications.   I just missed my 250 steps/hour at 9am.  It consistently does not work.  I love my Versa but notifications are not reliable.  Thinking of going to an apple.

Yes! Very frustrating

Coming from Samsung Gear smart watch, which is incredibly stable with notification, Fitbit notifications are completely unreliable.

I disabled sound and vibration on my phone and mow I have to look  at my phone every 30 minutes to see if there is a call or message that I missed. Simply because Fitbit notifications, sometimes work and sometimes doesn't for no reason!

Another note, Fitbit versa's bluetooth range is surprisingly limited and even more unstable that the cheapest headphone that I have. Wondering if that's a design issue or software related.

I also have been having this problem.  If I turn the Versa Off and then back on it will work for day maybe.  at first it only did it when it charged and then I wore it.  Now it does it all the time.  Maybe get an hour or two before stops.

I am having the same issue as everyone else. I have to restart my phone multiple times a day in order for me to receive text notifications. I've deleted the app and trie everything else others have suggested. I still don't receive my text messages unless I restart my phone. But that only works for a while then it happens again.
