Versa over counting stairs

Just bought a versa to replace 5 year old trusty Fitbit zip

I  disappointed as it logged 25 stairs climbed today that's three times what I did. And I got a badge. annoying as it was so expensive.

Also I have notifications on and it hasn't notified me.

Finally it is not always responsive.  I think I've bought the wrong tracker. I did try to return it but the retailer said it's non refundable  my phone is a Motorola G5. I do hope you can help me sort that issues.  I find Fitbit staff always incredibly helpful

@Louise237, welcome! It's nice to have you on board! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your floor count and notifications. Your device uses it's altimeter to detect variance in altitude. It will count 1 floor for every 10 ft it detects you climbed. There are situations that may affect the floor count like stormy weather (that has an actual impact on atmospheric pressure), gusts of wind, an AC unit in a closed room or opening a door. I suggest you start by cleaning the back of the device with cotton and rubbing alcohol then use compressed air at a distance to clear the altimeter's opening . Finally restart it.

Regarding notifications you can learn how they work and how to set them up here.

Let me know how it goes.

@AlvaroFitbit

I am having this issue with the Versa over counting stairs. It has been doing this for 3 days now. I have done the procedure you suggested with cleaning it and restarting it. I have done that process at least 3 times now in the past 3 days. It is not fixing the problem. What should I do now?
