I purchased a Fitbit Versa because I thought I would be getting sort of an upgrade from my Fitbit Charge 2, boy was I wrong. First all the steps aren’t anywhere near accurate. It almost tripled my step count. Second yes it nicely displays when I have an incoming call, but doesn’t show me my text messages. Third, anytime you are using the app on your phone to download an app unto your Versa it freezes. I think I will just stick with my Fitbit Charge 2.

@Tcwest82 A warm welcome to our Community! Sorry to hear that your Versa isn't working as it should. Your tracker will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen when driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your tracker on your non dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the tracker’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.
Regarding the text notifications, which phone are you using? Is it compatible? Please refresh the link between your phone and your device by going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
Finally regarding the app getting stuck, try logging out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.
Let me know how it goes!

It does handle text messages as well as many other app notifications. My wife has a Versa and step count is not an issue. Not unlike my Ionic, it has so many clockfaces it is not even funny. Way easier to read compared to the Charge 2 and 3 as well. Can also do payments if you buy the correct version. Color screen, etc. She lovers her Versa and I love my Ionic. Hope you get your issues resolved.
