Versa pausing during workout

Is there a way to lock your screen or lock button during a workout. After my Pilates workout, I looked and my workout had paused after only a minute. I also had the same issue during circut training, while doing push ups my versa was pushing into my hand and hitting the pause button.

I've noticed this too - when out on a run, every time I stopped running and went into a short walk, the versa paused the workout, but when I started running again, it resumed... I checked the dashboard on my pc and could see that my total workout had logged as 42.40 but my actual running time was 38.30...

I have to say I have been looking to see if this is an intended feature or a bug...?

I have noticed this when working out as my hand must press the pause button which is very annoying as i'm loosing out on around 10% of my workout!

Would love to know how to stop the pause 🙂

found the issue... so if you log on to your dashboard via the PC, go to Versa Device Settings (in your account) Click on  Auto Pause >> you can choose to switch on or off the auto pause for both running and biking, so essentially when you stop to rest, the tracker pauses your workout until you start moving again 🙂  But this is only for running and biking - anything else and it may be a button position issue...

So it IS a feature not a bug 🙂  phew...

Unfortunately, it isn't an option in "workout" which is what I use quite a
bit.

Unfortunately that isn't an option in "Workout" which is what I use during Pilates or Circut Training.

I'm not sure if it's a "bug" with the system or it's me hitting it during my workout but either way it's super irritating and not an issue I had with my Charge 2 ever. I want to love the Versa but may have to return it if I can't figure out how to resolve this.

I have the same problem during pushups. So frustrating.

This is a bug, since the 'pause' button could not be activated when the screen was off on the Blaze. Now on the Versa, even when your screen is off AND you turned off auto pause (which you have to do every time you use these activities) the pause button is active and any pressure against it will pause your excercise. Very annoying, since this happens for me on all kinds of activities, running, cycling, weights, hiking, etc.

Thank you!!! This has been bugging me for months and I've finally taken the time to look in the forums and fix it!!

I hiked 21.6 miles yesterday (my longest ever and hardest trails) and only know this mileage from a friends Apple.  I have had my Versa less that 2 weeks.  It paused two times on its own yesterday.  I am returning it to Kohls today and going to get a Charge3 (I had Charge2).  I love everything else about Versa but I am not putting up with this.  My first walk I lost time too due to Pause.  I have auto-on turned off and, you all are right, it is too easy to push that button (or something).  They should have fixed this!!  Disappointed.  I will try talking to Fitbit before return.... if that is even possible (talking).  I know I have 30 days to return to Kohls.

That is just the problem - there is no fix.  The pause button is still active.  And don't try to talk to FitBit customer service.  They are totally worthless.  And didn't care.  Tells me "working as designed".  Fine I am returning my versa.  Until I can read on there this is fixed, I will go back to Charge, and in this case, wait a few days for Charge3.

I really wish there was a fix. I love my versa but hate having to check to
make sure it hasn't paused during a workout.

I get the same issue but I’m quite sure it’s my wrist pushing the pause button when I lift weights or do push ups. A redesign or feature where this button could be disabled whilst exercising would help. For the time being I’ve just flipped my versa to the other side of my wrist (facing inwards) so it won’t do it anymore. Would love a resolve from Fitbit though as I love everything else about my versa. 😊

I turn my versa too during weight lifting, push-ups too! Only solution to hitting the pause button.

My Versa has just begun pausing during my tennis play. It had been working great until a couple of weeks ago when I noticed after my match that my watch was paused.  I thought I must had touched the screen but everyday since it has happened. Then yesterday I could actually feel my watch vibrate and pausing every time I would make a fast hit of the ball. SO annoying and distracting.  This has to be a bug since it had been working fine until recently. I think I will use my Charge until this gets fixed. BTW, I also am having problems with the touch screen on the right side of the screen. I have to tap it a million times or use the button on the side. I tried resetting my versa but it didn’t help.  I’m not sure if one has anything to do with the other or not.

I had this same problem and commented here a few years ago.  I recently upgraded to Versa3 and this isn't a problem any more!!   I am surprised FitBit isn't making people aware this is fixed with how the new Versa works.  Now, to pause or stop an exercise you must press the side button, and then you can pause or end, or cancel and go back to exercise logging.  I never have that button pressed by accident.  No more paused exercises!!   No more lost logging in the middle of your workout.  No more water drops pausing (which happened to me alot in AquaBoot Camp).     Get the Versa3!
