I just took my Fitbit Versa off for an hour and it logged over 8,000 steps. I can’t take it anymore it does this all the time. Does anybody know what is going on? Nobody at Fitbit seems to know or help and just “refer me to the website”. I think it’s just bad, This product is awful.

A warm welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner.
I am sorry to hear that your Versa is registering steps while you are not wearing it and would like to know if there was a fan or anything that may have been buzzing or vibrating on the same surface that your Versa was placed? If there was, I recommend placing the watch on a different surface without vibration and see if this issue persists.
Let me know the outcome. ![]()

I had the same problem. There was a fan nearby. Can I reset the steps for today?

It's great to see you here @MaryNP.
Having a fan near the Versa might cause some discrepancies issues as mentioned, please try to put it in another place to avoid this to happen again and regarding your inquiry, there isn't an option to delete extra steps but you can negate them.
Catch you later. ![]()

This happened to me when i charged my versa. Is was plugged into the same out let as my fan, but was not near the fan. Maybe because the vibration of the fan was hitting my night stand?? Help!

I stopped charging my Versa near the fan and I have not had that problem again. Good luck. I love my Versa.
