Versa's battery drains while powered off

Hello - Last night my Versa was at 67%. I powered it down. This morning I turned it back on and it was at 0%. Second time this week that has occurred. So I made sure to double check after powering down. Issue began after the new firmware update I downloaded Monday.

I'm having the same issue recently (Nov-Dec 2019). My battery drains from 100% to 0% in ~24 hours. I've contacted support several time and make sure I did everything they said, but it's still the same. No solution!!!

I haven't had my Versa for that long and it's just over warranty... but all they can give me is a discount code. I've been happy with my versa, and just outside of the warranty period of just ONE year... I'm supposed to scrap this device. How do I even have faith to buy from Fitbit again after this?

I’m having the same issue since updating. My Fitbit also gets stuck on the day before and takes a while to reset once I turn it on in the morning.

Mine is doing the same thing since the update this week. Drains the power at night when it’s turned off and takes forever to turn back on in the morning then the time and stats are stuck on the time I turned it off. They don’t swap until I sync it. I charged mine yesterday morning and didn’t have a big day this morning it’s down to 50% battery

I notified Fitbit and today it’s only used 29%. We will see what happens over night. They suggested letting it run all the way down again before recharging. Not sure how that explains it but will try

Left Versa powered up over

night and it did ok. Went down about 5%. Over 24!hours used about 60% battery. Will have 40% left today.

I’m also having exactly the same issue as you describe it after the recent update. Very frustrating - Up until now I’ve been quite impressed by the Versa but this has put me right off!

I am have followed customer services instructions and best my Versa will do is 48 hours before needing a new charge. Not good.

I'm experiencing the same problem after the last update. Is there a solution?

I was counseled by customer service to to recharge and drain all the way
down again to zero. Most I have gotten out of battery since is 2.25 days.

Same here since the update - I lost 30% last night and the only way to switch the Versa back on it to hold the back and bottom right buttons.

Agree. I got same discount offer. Then they put on on sale anyway. And empty gesture

Can't they do an update to undue the last update?

I also got the same issue after upgrading to 70.7.14.

Yesterday the residual battery is 96% and then turn off the Versa

But today (after 20 hours) the power is 19%.

It looks like the new FW has a big bug that doesn't really power-off.

I found keep turn on the Versa, the situation is much better than turn off Versa. So I think when turn off Versa, it still consumes battery  power and is much worse than standby mode. Definitely it is new firmware bug.

I have the same problem and am under warranty.  Should I send my versa back or is there a fix?

My work around has to be to leave it on. Seems to drain less that way. I also throw on charge for short not more frequently when I am not moving. Seems to be working that way.

Same problem .. Still not resolved, even after doing a factory reset, changing the clock face ... All this happened after making the last update.

I fully agree. I came to the same conclusion, by turning off the versa, the battery discharges faster than when it is on .. And that since the last firmware. After several messages on the forum, no satisfactory response from fitbit support. They seem to want to ignore the problem.

Here is the answer I received on 30 Jan 2020 from Fitbit ..to another Message posted..

Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank you all for your participation in this thread.

Since the majority of Versa series users have successfully updated to Fitbit OS 4.1 (70.7.14), we have decided to close this topic from further comments.

And that's the version with this specific issue, definitely sounds like Fitbit have decided to ignore the problem. It's a shame, it was quite useful to be able to turn the watch off at night to conserve a bit of power. If one was cynical, it might be tempting to think this was done intentionally to encourage folks to leave it on (and thus gather more data)... I was considering upgrading to a Versa 2 but I guess that'll use the same firmware, I might be just as well going for a cheaper option like a MiBand if this is how Fitbit deal with their customers.

Sounds like Fitbit are just going to ignore this issue because not enough of their users have complained. That's a very quick way to alienate those users that have a problem and I don't think I'll be buying anything from Fitbit again.
