Versa's screen became unresponsive

So I just got off of a long phone call with a Fitbit customer service agent (who is just doing his job and following his script so yes, I was kind). I went swimming two days ago and before I got in the pool, I'd never had even the slightest problem with my Versa. I checked the time multiple times throughout the swim and it was working beautifully, but about 5 minutes before getting out, I went to check the time and the screen wouldn't come to life. I tried restarting it, tried plugging it in, nothing. I finally put it in a bowl of rice for 24 hours and tried all of the above again.... Nothing. So today I called. I followed all the steps he requested, still nothing. I'm literally 17 DAYS out of warranty and the response I got was that the "watch is waterproof so it wasn't the water. Here's a 25% coupon off your next purchase."

Seriously! It was obviously the water and no, there isn't a scratch or crack on my device. I've taken extremely good care of it and this was the first time I've ever been brave enough to take it swimming. Now I have no watch and zero faith in this company that I've purchased 4 watches from on the past. Why would I want to buy another product from you if you call me the liar and don't stand behind your product/mistakes?

Hi @Amwyatt, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa's screen became unresponsive. I'm also sorry to hear that it's no longer under warranty. The warranty is good for 365 days, starting from the date of the first setup.

I totally understand how you feel about this and we appreciate your feedback and comments since this helps us to keep improving.

I'll be around if any question arises.

i totally agree, I believe both my versa problem might of started from swimming, so there they are not good for swimming and Fitbit needs to admit that.

Fitbit needs to take a lesson from Apple and offer to fix products fir a fee. A company that believes in their product.

If you fitbit thinks I will spend another $200 for a product to die in 13 months.  I have done it before and I will not anymore.

I will no longer support a company that makes products that all last less than 2 years and wants people to throw them into the landfill.  Fitbit is very irresponsible to the environment

I agree everything works okay until you have a problem with the product. I'm with you my versa (15 months old )screen went blank and cannot start it,   had no water problem just went black tried everything as outlined on the forum still no luck!! I'm really not considering buying a replacemnt from fitbit as cannot get anybody to contact. Wow what support!!. Looks like I might have to buy an apple.

So miffed.
