I bought a Versa today and when I opened the box, the Versa fell out and took a dive and the screen cracked. 😡
Since Fitbit won't cover it under warranty, where can I take it for repair?

The support team rejected my claim, which is fine. I've gone and bought a smartwatch with GoogleFIT and a protective bezel around the screen so that accidental tumbles can't crack it's screen.
I was disappointed that fitbit does not offer service for cracked screens. I'd have be more than willing to pay to have the screen replaced since it's not covered under the warranty, but since that's not even an option, I guess I won't ever buy a fitbit tracker. It's a shame, as my family all have fitbit trackers and enjoy the weekly competitions for step getting.
It's also a shame that the fitbit app doesn't sync steps with GoogleFIT so I can participate in their step getting challenges. If the fitbit app allowed synchronization with other trackers, it could boost sales of fitbit trackers while still giving people who already have a tracker a way to synchronize some data.
The exclusivity of fitbit and their trackers makes it difficult to want to support them in this world of open development. Even something as clean as an API for inserting partial data would make the app WAY more appealing to the fitness world.
Finally, the Versa tracker is supposed to have gorilla glass, but I believe that it's deeply flawed glass judging from the number of posts on this forum about cracked screens.
All in all, I'd give Fitbit maybe two stars out of five for customer support, software support, and community involvement.

There is no repair. Where did you buy it? How dd it fall out so easy?
If at a store take it back and exchange it

A warm welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner and @WendyB thanks for stopping by.
I am sorry to hear about what happened with your Versa and would like to know if you followed our friend's recommendation and contacted the retailer? Since as mentioned, we don't have a repair center.
Hope to hear from you soon.

I've read so many posts about the versa screen cracking that I might not get another one. It sounds like the glass used was either too thin or poorly tempered. What ever the cause, not offering a repair service, even a paid one, is costing you customers.

Since you just bought it, you could argue that it was not secured in the box properly which is what caused the tumble. There are cases you can buy if you’re worried about damaging a second one.

I’ve had my Fitbit for just a couple months now and I’ve noticed the screen is either cracked or scratched down the face. I’m dissapponted especially since this product is supposed to be an activity item. I don’t do much except work and housework. So pretty dissappointed. Looking at these forums it doesn’t look like there is a fix for it. Not thinking I’d spend the money it cost now as I thought it would last longer than my charge. That product lasted me over three years! Thanks

They said the same thing to me. And I kick myself because I was deciding between the Fitbit and Apple Watch. Now I wish I had chosen the Apple Watch. I don’t even know how my watch face got this crack ??
Very disappointed.
Thanks for sharing

Accidentally I dropped my versa the 3rd day since my husband gave it to me 😞
Since the is not possible to repair it I have a question, is it worth buying a screen protector?
Thank for you help.

Hey there,
i have not had any issues with scratching since I got my screen protector. I suggest you get one for peace of mind.
If you buy it at Best Buy you can get a warranty and they will change it out if it starts to lift.
Hope that helps and your screen is fine!

Hi, thanks for your answer. May I ask you another thing? Was your Versa already cracked when you buy the screen protector?
Thanks again!

Mine still works just fine, it's just cracked. You have to be careful. Any moisture and it's over. I ordered a cover for mine till I have enough $ for a Samsung gear.

My Versa screen has cracked also... sad to hear that there is no way to repair it. Next time I will go with a Samsung watch.
