Versa screen cracked

I bought a Versa today and when I opened the box, the Versa fell out and took a dive and the screen cracked. 😡

Since Fitbit won't cover it under warranty, where can I take it for repair?

My Versas screen , less than a month old has cracked.

Glass is obviously not tempered.

I would have paid for repair as others have mentioned.

I will not purchase another and will try to war others of this flaw.

Totally crazy. I have the same issue, I need to have my Versa 2 special edition screen replaced but have found that there is no one and no where to get it fixed. After huge research trying to find a repair center, I was told by technicians that getting parts for fitbit products is very difficult and there are no shops in the GTA (where there are millions of people) that service firbit. In addition, the company - FITBIT - will not repair this watch. I called the help center 3 times and was offered a 25% discount on a Versa 2 but not for the special edition. They were going to send the discount offer via email to me for review but when I called the 3rd time to inquire about the email I was told that they were having trouble sending that email to me, which is odd as I have received numerous emails from them. They were willing to do a manual input to place the order but I would not be able to review it in advance, really stinks!!

I found that the credit card I used to purchase my Fitbit watch covered accidental damage for 120 days from purchase.

I had to contact Fitbit via online chat and verify screen could not be replaced by Fitbit, then send the chat session to credit card warranty company with a photo of damage. They promptly credited my account with the full purchase price.

It's worth checking your credit card website and see if they may offer similar warranties.

I do believe I got the idea to look for CC warranty from this message board.

Hi Thank you for this insight, The credit card company does insure the product but it seems it may take up to a year?

Its possible to replace it your self. I did it on mine. Willing to help out. Just need to order the screen itself and replace it there is videos how to take it apart. I have made some photos and video if needed.

I dropped my Versa 2 yesterday and the screen cracked. I felt so bad because it has become a part of my life. I just discovered that it still works, just that I cannot see anything. I would really like to know if and how I can buy and fit a replacement screen.

Hello, sorry to hear it happened to you as well.

I have done a lot of researches and could not find a replacement. BUT I could find a solution that worked very well for me. My watch was still working, but the screen cracked and I had small pieces of glass falling out (so I could not wear it). So I bought a screen protector. Just received it today and I am very happy!! You can still see that underneath the screen is cracked (but much less!) and above all I can wear it without spreading around pieces of glass.

I bought it in Amazon, it's called CAVN Protector (it comes in a packet of 3, you can choose the colours) 8,99 EUR

Same thing happens to us! Yesterday my kids gave dad Vensa 3 for Father’s Day - they were so proud they can scrape enough homey from their savings (with a bit of my help) for such present…

Dad was overjoyed, tried to put it on his wrist - it slipped, hit the concrete tile on the back yard deck (from sitting hight!) and the screen cracked! How could this be with a device that meant for sports?? We’ve had Charge 2, charge 3, snd Blaze that we’ve banged, snd dropped - nothing ever happened! Everyone is devastated… not a Father’s Day mood we hoped to be in…. Waiting for the fitbit team to get back to us about what can be done….

Hi Olga,

Sorry to hear that, I know the feeling...hope the Fitbit team will be able to find a solution. They did not for me, but that was a few months ago, maybe now they have replacement screens.
If they don’t and if your husband’s watch still works I can suggest you to buy the CAVN screen protector: it won’t repair the screen but it makes the damage less visible...bought them in Amazon, 3 for less than 10€ and I’m quite happy

Good luck!

Fitbit team told me they do not repair screens and there is nothing they can do for me… we have bought our Fitbit in BestBuy so I went there, explained what have happened and they have given me a brand new replacement fitbit Versa 3! What a great customer service that just secured my loyalty to them  - cannot say the same about fitbit though..
