My Fitbit Versa screen blacked out and became unresponsive, but the lights at the wrist were still on as usual until the watch ran out of battery, then it wouldn’t charge.

Hi @Adelle66, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Versa became unresponsive and now it won't take a charge.
I would like to know if your Versa vibrates when you put it on the charger. In the meantime, try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. After this, charge your watch for 2-3 hours and see if it comes back to life.
Looking forward to your response.

Mine did exactly the same on Saturday night. Won't turn on now and all the back lights have stopped working. Black screen all the time. When I put it on to charge a black 'digital' screen is on as if it is trying to do something but it never happens. When I put it on the charging station it doesn't even vibrate now. No idea what to do with it. Unfortunately bought it second hand 6 months ago, so doubt the warranty comes over to me, but it is less that a year old. I have the versa.
I can't afford to buy another one, but use it every day! Nothing I have read to do have helped, and now I'm stuck...

I personally believe it was the last update. I had had replacement versa sent to me in June, because my first one was coming apart. Now this one has the black screen a couple days after the update. But now i'm out the warranty. They offered me a 30% discount, but I think I have to be done with fitbit. I can't believe how low their quality has become.

Hi, my 97 year old mom has a versa we got her after heart valve replacement. It stopped working and won’t charge. I tried the link in your response, but it did not go directly to an article. Would you be able to attach the article? If not, how can I go about returning my mom’s watch for either repair or replacement? Thank you

Not sure what the problem is.. after trying 3 or 4 different things, still didn't help, they just offered me 35% off on a new one. Said my one year warranty was up the end of June. And that's about the time it started acting up.. my Versa wouldn't hold charge for just barely a day . I should have contacted them then I guess. 😞

NEVER buying Fitbit again. Ridiculous that a watch would only last 2 years. Called and "corporate is aware of the recent complaints but there is nothing they can do."

The exact same thing happened to my Versa! After only a year.

I know what you mean. My Fitbit Versa only lasted one year! My first Fitbit HR Charge lasted just a little over a year! It's like after the warranty runs out they start acting up.. sad!

Same exact scenario here, almost verbatim. Started Thursday night with black screen. Completely unresponsive by Sunday. Super sketchy, Fitbit.
