Versa screen unresponsive

My versa screen has become unresponsive to touch. I am able to use the buttons, however I am unable to get the screen to swipe to allow me access to the settings to perform a reset. The battery went flat 2 days ago and I thought it was purely not responsive due to a low battery, however now it has been fully charge, it is still not responding. Any tips?

Mine is getting replaced under warranty. There is definitely something wrong with the touch screen!

I had it happen twice. They replaced it the first time - but the second time, the watch was past the warranty date for the original watch - so no other replacement.

I have had 2 Versa lites in the last year and a half , both have become unresponsive to swiping.  They replaced the first one so I hope they replace the second. I have tried restarting I now have a message  that says Data not cleared Sync and try again. How do I sync if I can't  swipe my screen.

This is happening to me now on a daily basis whenever I don't touch it for a while. Restarting sometimes works but it's very frustrating.  I had no such issues with the Alta HR and I'm very disappointed from this product

I concur.  Good design, but flawed execution.

I also had 2 Alta's they both stopped working. Then I got a versa lite it
stopped working, fitbit sent me a new one within 6 months that one has guit
working. These fitbits aren't cheap and I can't afford to buy one every 6
months. What should I do?

  • I was swimming and using hot tub when I got out of hot tub my Versa went blank.  I had just recharged it before I went in pool.  I have dried it out (if that was the problem).  Originally I had now screen now it trying to light up and it tried rebooting by using the buttons. It won’t reboot.  Is it no longer going to work for me?? Thanks

I just did a factory reset and it’s still not working. The buttons aren’t even working now.
I followed the instructions and it did a factory reset but now I can’t set it up as the screen is still unresponsive.

Mine can connect to my app - kind of.  It’s let me add the versa as a device, but I can’t follow through with the instructions on the watch screen!  So it’s pretty useless now! Not impressed with this at all.

This does not work for me. Is this working for anyone else with this issue?

I've had the same issue and they are not replacing mine either. I'm glad some others were able to get a replacement, but with this many complaints on the same issue this is clearly an issue with the device. I have purchased many fitbits over the years so really bummed to have to pay for a new one after just purchasing this a little over a year ago. 😔

My last fitbit lasted about that long also before a manufacturing issue, so I guess we have to plan to buy one yearly.

Yup, this process did not help me either, while I did try it several times.  Fitbit would not replace mine either, even though I only had it for 13 months, when it failed.  I too have had several other Fitbits that have failed previously.  This is my last one.  The next will be an apple watch.

My wife’s has now got the unresponsive screen after 7 months of ownership...I want to fix it without going through warranty, but I can’t even get it to do a factory reset...

Following the instructions to a tee...no luck what so ever...

Can you factory reset from the app?

You can’t do anything if the touch screen doesn’t work. Contact them directly via FB Messenger.

Contact Fitbit via FB Messenger - that’s what I did and I had no issues with their service.

Mine never recovered, had to send back and get a replacement.

It took quite a few times for me to do the factory reset also. You have to
be pretty patient with it after pushing all 3 buttons and you see fitbit
logo release the bottom right button and just wait for a lonnnnng time.
I never got touch to work and apparently mine was no longer under warranty.
I went ahead and purchased a new one.

Thanks for the tips - What is the FB Messanger contact? Am I missing it here somewhere on the site?

Go to their page on FB ... It’s just called Fitbit (with the official blue check mark next to the name) then click on ‘message’. They usually reply within a couple of days.
