I am returning my Versa for a replacement, as I have also had battery problems. Had it a month, and it now lasts less than 24 hours  even having switched off all notifications etching  If the replacement isn't any better, I will return for a refund, as if it only works if you switch off all the features, then what's the point in having it? Might as well buy a cheap watch and a step counter at a fraction of the price!

I´ve been using my Fitbit Versa SE for a week, battery life is awful. I read the community forums and tried to solve this issue applying several suggestions found on them, but none was helpful.

Here is my report:

1st day: After initial set up and configuration, with about 2 hours of charging on the morning, my watch lasted less of 24 hours, it died while sleeping. Stock set up: "Light" watchface created by Fitbit, notifications on, always connected on, auto screen brightness on, heartbeat on, no alarms, quick view on, etc., Normal use: didn´t play with it too much, few notifications from mail and whatsapp, no workout just walking (+10,000 steps)

2nd day: Changed to "Layers" watchface also created by Fitbit, kept the stock set up from the first day and normal use. Discovered that gps connected was on for running and biking apps and, despite I turned it off on the watch, it returned to on few seconds after... I had to turn it off trough the Fitbit app. Started to measure battery consumption after charging and gotten an almost perfect rate of 4% per hour, so knowing that the normal rate should be 1% per hour, to last 4 days (as claimed by Fitbit), I realized that my Versa would last just for one day and yes, it died next day in the morning.

3rd day: Charged the watch for more than two hours on morning, did a soft reset (pushing left and bottom right buttons) kept stock settings described before, normal use. The same thing, got a 4% per hour battery consumption rate, the watch died on the next morning.

4th day: Charged the watch for more than two hours, did a factory reset, kept the same configuration and had the same normal use. The same thing, got a 4% per hour battery consumption rate, the watch died on the next morning.

5th and 6th days: Charged the watch for more than two hours, minimized set up: returned to Light" watchface created by Fitbit, notifications off, always connected off, auto screen brightness low, heartbeat off, no alarms, quick view off,...just like my 80´s Casio watch and had normal use as well. Surprisingly, the battery consumption rate was +5% per hour rate!!. Simply weird and unacceptable.

7th day: I´m tired and dissapointed and ready to post my report and contact Fitbit support for a replacemente or a refund.

Listen Fitbit staff, I like your devices, I've had a Charge 2 for more than a year and i´m very pleased with it, i think that none device or app is indispensable for getting fit and keeping healthy but it's true that are very useful to track your health parameters/progress and stay motivated to reach your goals. I lost 13 kg in about five months last year thanks to my nutritionist, my discipline and my healthy metabolism, but Fibit also played a little but important role here.

I´m from Mexico and bought the Fitbit Versa on Best Buy Mexico, I want my guarantee replacement or money back from them but dont know exactly whats the procedure to claim it. That's why I'm reporting this issue, I want to be fair and transparent to get your support and to claim for my guarantee. I'm able to give you any other info that you want, if necessary.

Thank you very much.

@Peter45Mx Nice post

Got versa.  At 48Hr mark, batt at 47%.  Not so good.

At beginning of run, Charged to full, tried 2 or 3 3rd party watch faces, All-Day sync on, Quick View on.  About 8 hr in, turned off All-Day sync, Quick View, and went to FB watch face. Strangely, at some point Quick View came back on.  ??

Will let it run out, charge for 2hr, then will report back.

Interesting. I had a 3rd party watch face too with a minute hand. I changed it to a Fitbit face and turned off the all day sync. It seems much better for the battery. I’m still having issues with it fully syncing my info. It seems to have a mind of its own!Maybe I was expecting it to be more accurate than what it’s designed for?

Per message 224, got to 3 day mark at 18%.  Charging now for 2 hr.  Will report back, hoping for better results.  Well, at least I can say battery's a bit better than an Apple watch, plus it tracks sleep.

I been monitoring the battery life for the last 3 weeks.

The usage of the battery should perform as follows:

A 25% decrease in battery life for a complete 24 hours usage where it is to track steps and "always sync off".

So a 48 hour usage should see you hit 50% battery life left.

If you see a difference in your battery life where it is below 50% then there is something wrong with the watch or it is always syncing to the phone.

It is also ideal to have the watch charged to full when you hit 50%. Having it drop to 25% or less and then charging the watch to full seems to cause the watch battery performance to drop faster than usual. I notice that if I were to charge my watch at 75% battery life, it seems to perform better as compared to 25% then charge. When I mean perform better, I meant the battery drops a lot lesser within 24 hours.

My battery life was 4-5 days when I first got it a couple weeks ago.  But since the update I got last Thurs - it's dying in 2 days.....thought it was a fluke just due to the update - Charged it late Monday night thinking that it would last atleast the 2 days I would be in CA - it showed full charge before getting on the 2 hr plane ride and when landed it didn't turn on... was weird... so wore a useless watch for 2 days... tried the turn it on and off thinking maybe it just needed to be set but by 10:30am it showed watch was fully drained 0%... thought I forgot the charger till on the plane ride home, put it on the charger while waiting for and when got on the plane maybe 3 hrs... showed 47% ... put it on since was getting off the plane.   thinking it will last for a day... it was almost 50% charged but then it was dead again by 7pm .... just fully charged it again at 10pm... will be seeing how long it will last now.  This is ludicrous... maybe I got a dud....will take it back to Best Buy if it dies quickly again.

Restart watch?  Works sometimes...

(press single button and bottom button together until you see the fitbit logo, then let go.  Takes 20 or so seconds to complete)

Hi @ibilln, thanks for your comments.

Sorry for replying to you until now, I've been very busy at work

I think that you are getting a not so bad battery consumption rate, 53% / 48hr = 1.1% per hour...that's very close to the 1% per hour claimed by Fitbit (4 days per full charge). Considering that you are using the stock/normal set up (Auto Screen Wake on, Notifications on, etc.) I think that you have a good device.

Mine keeps dying in 24 hours or less, despite using minimal set up (Manual Screen Wake, Notifications off, Sync all day off, etc). Oh!, and yes, despite having Manual Screen Wake on, my watch randomly wakes when I turn my wrist or raise my arm, even when I'm driving. It is not very frequent but I does occur.

Also, my watch won't charge from my computer, it only charges using a Wall charger.

Contacted Fitbit Support the same day I posted here, they replied very quick and kindly and asked for more information. I was able to respond them until saturday in the morning (yesterday) and by the evening they responded that I have a faulty device and will send me a replacement.

So I hope that my issue will be resolved son.

I'm very pleased and grateful with Fitbit because they are showing true customer care. By the way, when I bought the Fitbit Versa SE, also bought two original leather bands (cognac and blue) and an original mesh band, so yes, I'm a Fitbit fan.

I'll report later, when I get my replacement.

Have a nice weekend!

I am on 32.10.20.  I am using less than 0.8% per hour.  I am at 18% in 4-1/2 days.  I have all Day sync on. Notifications on.  Screen set to auto detect and normal.  Screen sleep time of 10 seconds.

My version is 32.10.15 and running on iOS, setting is identical to your Bobled, and it lasts with in a day. So I guess it might be the software version.

I don’t know.  Maybe some of the batteries just suck.

How do I know which are the Fitbit clocks and which are 3rd party?

Update from me - well so far so good with the replacement Versa I received. After 5 full days I was left with 9% battery, which I am pretty happy with. I have now recharged & will see how long it lasts. I am a but nervous as I read many people saying their battery started off alright & then deteriorated after several charges so lets see.

I have standard clock face, all day sync turned on & I probably look at it a few times a day. No music.

Replying to my message 226.

I'm halfway into day 5 with 40% (!).  I take back previous snarky comments...

Ok.  Now to charge up (2 hr) and try same config with a sensible 3rd party watch face.  Trying to find the culprit...  Stay tuned.

I got my replacement Versa last Thursday, charged for 2 hours.  I have a Fitbit watch face, all day sync off, notifications on. And now after 4 days I still have 30% charge. Very pleased so far, I will update after a couple more charges. This one is on version 15 of the firmware.
