Versa stopped working after first swim

I have started swimming so took my versa in the pool. After a few lengths the screen logo came on. Then it just stopped working. I can see condensation in the back. 
sadly it’s out of warranty so am absolutely gutted. Surely a watch that states it’s for swimming even out of warranty should be covered as it’s not doing what it is advertised to do? Thank you in advance

Same but mine was in the hot tub. I didn’t even put it under far. I guess since it’s water resistant and not water proof is where it’s not covered.
