Versa stopped working after getting wet

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit Versa is not starting since yesterday and it has got water damaged. I usually keep it on while taking shower and it never happened before.

Could anyone please suggest a way to make it work. I really love my fitbit and I am already missing it.

Will appreciate any help with this.

Thanks

Hi there @Vikas_112018, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details shared in your post about your Versa not starting after taking a shower with it. I understand how you may feel about this situation, I'll be glad to help you to get back on track.

Please note that all Fitbit trackers and smartwatches are water-resistant, which means they're rainproof and splash-proof and can stand up to even the sweatiest workout. Fitbit Versa Series are swimproof in a lake, pool, or ocean (up to 50 meters).

To better assist you with this inconvenience, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or if your watch is completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so yet, I recommend following the troubleshooting steps from this help article including steps to clean your device and restart it: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

The same thing happened to me. It died after a few minutes of being in a swimming pool for water class. I have done all of the troubleshooting plus some and nothing. I did talk to customer service this morning and they told me because I have had it for over a year that all they can do is offer me 35% off of a new one. Makes no sense when this seems to be a big problem with the Versa. It should not be advertised as water resistant. I will not buy another for 35% as this was expensive and I'm not going to take a chance of another one having issues and pretty much being told there's nothing they can do. Very disappointing

Hi @Corbin_083070 , sorry to hear about that. I haven't got a response from support on my first mail. Let's see what they say. I agree these watches are expensive and they should have better water proofing.

What other options are you looking at? Have to think on similar lines if I don't get an encouraging response.

I had the same issue. The heart sensors aren't blinking AND Versa appears dead

Hello @MarreFitbit and @Corbin_083070 , Fitbit gave me two options. Either to have like to like replacement free of cost or get 50% discount on new purchase. I have decided to upgrade to Versa 2 as I would have anyways tried to go for an upgrade in 1-2 years either for Fitbit or any other trackers. So as such I am happy with this. Only thing is that since the purchase is happening on Fitbit site the full price is without any discount. Amazon has some good offers where price is £30-40 less but anyways that could not have beaten Fitbit‘s 50% discount. I am waiting for my new tracker. Will treat it as my advanced birthday gift.

Hello.....I spoke to customer support however, they only offered me 35% off of a new purchase. 50%, maybe I would have taken them up on that or even an exact exchange. But not 35% when I feel it’s due to false advertising on the water resistance.

Yes, they did, and I also found it helpful. They gave me only one option:
change without cost.

That's a good deal @Adolpa .

I have ordered my watch on Friday for normal delivery but they haven't dispatched it yet. I have contacted support team too who are checking with warehouse for dispatch.

I hope I get it this week....fingers crossed.
