Versa swim laps

My new versa will not properly show swim laps. I set the swim lap distance to 25 meters but the "face" of the swim exercise will not move off 50 meters. Contacted Fitbit C/S and they said that theirs was doing the same thing.............what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
