Versa tracking treadmill changes

I have had my Versa since Sept. 2018 and just the past week the accuracy of my daily treadmill has changed drastically but my treadmill routine is the same. I've done all the resetting on my watch and my phone, as well as checking location settings accuracy on my phone but it's still off. My normal run according to treadmill is from walk/jog on speed of 4 to run on 7.5, with 7.5 to 8.5 miles distance. My versa always logged this as average 5 speed and from 4.5 to 7 miles. The variation is how I ran on the treadmill. But now the same runs on the treadmill on my Versa read 2.5 speed and maybe 3 miles. This is a sudden change on the Versa but I'm running the same way on the treadmill as always. So it's suddenly become highly inaccurate even though I wasn't expecting precise numbers, this is kind of ridiculous. Can the watch tracking actually go bad? lol! I'm on Android a S10+ and no the changes weren't off when I first upgraded my phone from a S8+. It happened over a week since I got the new phone. I haven't seen anyone else that had an accuracy issue seem to develop after time. I was okay with it not being precise and go with somewhere between the treadmill reading and my Versa but now, the Versa is clearly way off.

@Kstell It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

I will gladly assist you with the treadmill accuracy. Your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and record the activity itself. In this case I suggest you don't grab the hand rails on the treadmill so the Versa properly detects the arm movement during the activity.

Let me know how it goes.

I'll pay more attention to how often I'm rotating my hands to hold for a "break" while I'm on the treadmill when I do it in the morning. I usually only do one hand at a time but if I'm doing it more often, that may be the difference. I may be tiring out and doing that more and not have noticed. I tend to hold with one hand and move the other to kind of relieve my back and balance at times. That very well could be the difference. Thanks, I'll pay more attention in the morning and see if that's what my problem is.
