Versa won’t charge or reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I was on holiday last week and with a reasonable amount of charge left, I went in the pool. When I next looked at my versa, it wasn’t switched on.

I tried to charge it afterwards and it has been stuck on the load screen and then 0% since then. It won’t charge past 0%, no matter how long it is on charge for.

Now I think I’ve got a hardware problem because I tried to update my versa yesterday but I had to stop the update halfway through (90 minutes and halfway updated) to leave the house.

Since the interrupted update, I can’t get past the “your versa battery is too low to continue” page, even though it’s been on charge for hours.

Any ideas?

I cant reset my versa because it has no charge if it’s not in the dock.

@HWillis90 welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it won't take a charge. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. It contains steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest. After this, charge your watch for 2-3 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome! 😀

I've had my versa for a little over a year. Just as they year warranty ended it started acting up. It wouldnt charge unless it got to 0% but now it wont charge at all and its completely dead. I've never had it in water cause I dont care if it says waterproof, I'm not taking that risk after spending that much money on it. I spoke with someone a couple months ago after it started acting up and with a factory reset it went back to normal but then it did it again but now I cant reset it at all. The only thing they said they can offer me is 20% off my next purchase.  That really doesnt help me. I expect something worth that much money to crap out on me right after my year warranty ends. I feel like this is just a money scheme wanting me to purchase a new one. And before anyone asks, yes I did get a new charger and no that one isnt working either and yes I cleaned the charging ports gently with a q-tip. Someone please help.

I'm with you on this one. My versa is dead for no reason and is not charging. I've had it for a little more than a year. I'm being offered 25% off my next purchase and just like in your case that doesn't help. No value for money from Fitbit, I'm not sure how to take this forward. Really unhappy with the support Fitbit is providing, instead of providing a fix they are asking to buy a new one. Why would someone buy a new product when the current one is broke and what guarantee does Fitbit provide that it doesn't happen to the next product I purchase.

I got a free replacement from Fitbit so I now have a fully functioning versa. They gave me the option of a replacement or 50% off the Versa 2, but I went with the free replacement.

Was your product within the warranty period?

Not sure what the warranty period is - it was a gift in May 2018 and I got my replacement in September 2019
