Hi there @tharuliyanage, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for your efforts in troubleshooting your Versa prior to posting here. I'll be glad to continue helping you.

Please note that the error message you're getting usually appears when you performed a factory reset without first unpairing the Fitbit device. Usually you should unpair your Versa, forget Bluetooth and perform the factory reset. To solve this issue, try these steps in the following order:

  • Unpair your Versa from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Versa again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa.

If you can't get started with your Versa, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

If after setting up your watch you still have syncing difficulties, please see: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Let me know how it goes.

Hello there Maria, both my wife and I are experiencing the very same issue with our Versa 2's. One phone is IOS the other Android and neither are connecting or syncing.

They have been working fine until last week. Over the years with 3 fitbits  I have seen issues like this happen and waited it out to resolve but this one is quite frustrating..

We have tried the troubleshooting steps in the order suggested a few times. And also deleted the app and tried setting up again. always finds the device with "Found it" displayed then hangs on connecting for about 5 minutes before failing.

Looking forward to some more tips.

Peter

Hi there @petgiles and @SeritaYvonne, welcome on board. We acknowledge the limitation we have on our part particularly on what you have experienced. We‘re taking into consideration your comments and sentiments with regards to our products and services. Thanks for your efforts in troubleshooting the connectivity issues prior to posting here.

Have you two checked if the mobile device you're using is officially compatible with Fitbit?

Please know Fitbit products are compatible with most devices that have the following operating systems: Apple iOS 12.2 or higher, Android OS 7.0 or higher, and Windows 10 version 1607.0 or higher. For the latest list of devices that support the Fitbit app for Android, see Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported and does not meet the require OS we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone or tablet meets the minimum operating system requirements.

@SeritaYvonne have you tried the tips and recommendations I've offered here?

@petgiles Are you and your wife trying to set up your Versa 2 watches at the same time? Please keep in mind that your phones' Bluetooth may be causing interference between the watches and the set up process, so I'd recommend trying to set up one watch at the time with one phone while the other one remains off and the other Versa 2 is far away. Once you successfully pair one Versa 2 to a phone, do the same process with the second one.

Looking forward to your response.

You Fitbit guys do know that there is also a problem with unpairing they Versa 2, right? I was unable to do do when I had same problems because the “Forget this device” suddenly disappeared from my Bluetooth setting in my iPhone 11.

Thank you for the response. It's the same phone I've had it paired to four the last year. That is compatible. It came unpaired and now when I try to pair it again it keeps telling me that my fitbit is rejecting the pairing. So I'm not quite sure what to do.
