Versa won't sync/pair

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Versa does not show up as a "paired" device, nor can I even actually"pair" it under my Bluetooth anymore.... yet syncs sporadically. Majority of the time I have to reset my phone multiple times a day to get stats to sync; because it's not "connected" I can't use GPS or get notifications. If best I can use GPS/notifications for a few minutes before a phone reboot is required.

Further testing, I've decided maybe trying my Amazon Fire tablet as means to syncing my data exclusively and I abandon hope this will work with my phone ever again.....it doesn't sync with my tablet anymore.

Is there an actual confirmed resolution to sync errors? Factory resets, force stopping, uninstalling the app, etc have done absolutely nothing

@seholder, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Versa is not syncing or staying paired with your phone. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

I'd like to know what is the brand and model of your phone.

In the meantime, please try restarting your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your watch internally. After this, try setting up your watch as a new device and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I've done a factory reset as well as removed the device from my account and for a day was unable to get my phone or tablet to detect the watch.

I've gone through tech support multiple times to no avail.

It was only after a 2nd factory reset that I was able to reconnect and was able to sync data again.

That being said, it only syncs while on my home wifi. It will not receive notifications, and will not connect to phones GPS for tracked walks, etc. It sporadically syncs data, other times it will not detect my device on the app until I restart my phone.

I currently use a LG v20 with Android 8.0.0, I have also tried a Amazon Fire Tablet and it was not able to sync/detect or set up as a new device. I have also tried on a Samsung Galaxy S7 and also was not able to sync nor did the phone detect the device.

I hear your pain! I have the same trouble. Problem is, I need my stats to maintain a level for my health insurance and every time I have to restart everything I lose all that stats and points for that day. It’s very frustrating!

Hopefully you have a warranty, as much as I love Fitbit, I've had nothing but problems with them.

No one from tech support knows how to remedy this or has a clue what's wrong. Luckily I learned my lesson and I buy extended warranties because I know it's only a matter of when the device breaks

I also have an LG V20, and I've been having the same issues! I have to restart my phone and Fitbit multiple times, but it never stays connected. Maybe it's an issue with the phone?

Tech support have done a blanketed statement indicating that neither the phone nor the Amazon tablet I tried are "supported" despite actively using both devices since I purchased the device with no problem until recently.

I've also tested it on a Samsung S7 and I had similar issues where the device was unrecognizable and unpairable. It might very well be an update to various OS's but it covers and extensive amount of users if that's the scenario.  Good luck with your issues as well

I was facing the same problem. The way I did to fix it was to reboot my versa. I pressed the left and the down button until the fitbit logo apear. Then I just waited for the system to reboot, after that I was able to sync my versa again
