Hi @Ashchristinec - it probably is a bug, as you say others are encountering the battery drain too.
In the meantime have a look at how you might manage the battery with these points.

Thanks for responding and trying to help. I checked out your post yesterday and was hopeful it would make a difference but no luck yet. Today I will probably try factory reset the device and reconnect it to the app and see if that does anything. I've been avoiding that option but I guess it's the next thing to try.
