Versa2-Exercise-"Connecting" Problem

Hi

I have a Versa 2 paired with an Android (Huawei P30). I have no issues pairing the phone with any other bluetooth device. When I select the Versa 2 exercise mode and any related exercise category the watch attempts to connect with my phone (to secure GPS) but this connection is very erratic and mostly unsuccessful  ..watch just states "connecting". If I run a simple test case with the phone 5cm from the watch it can take 2min+ to connect but mostly does not connect at all. If the watch does connect and you end the exercise and immediately attempt to log a new exercise the watch does not recall the connection and the problem persists. I also find the watch will loose the connection frequently after connection. I have restarted both phone and watch and no joy with this Versa 2.

This isn't a pairing problem @SunsetRunner. the Fitbit app should have paired the tracker to your phone. However let's check your phones Bluetooth and make sure that the tracker is an approved device, if so then restart the phone.

Hi Rich

The Versa 2 does Pair with phone through the initial setup - that's not the issue. The problem is when entering exercise mode Versa2 requests a connection to the phone to source GPS position.  As per example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzFS3xL_g2s I find the versa 2 success rate very low to go from "Connecting" to "Connected" state. It also tends to loose phone connection during the ride (yet to get a 100% success rate with GPS tracking). Resetting the phone / watch has not helped

Here is how to track a bicycle ride workout using the Fitbit versa fitness monitor. The Fitbit is designed to detect whether or not you are riding a bike, but it works best if you put it into bike ride mode before you start your ride. This is very easy to do from the exercise options on the Fitbit
