I got in a freshwater pool and within 2 minutes my device stopped working. The website said it was resistant to 50 meters. Now it's ruined. Has anyone else had this happen?

Hi @KathrynHunteman I should be water resistant. I swim in mine all the time. I have flagged a moderator to come and help you.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @KathrynHunteman. It's nice to see you around @NellyG.
@KathrynHunteman I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that your Fitbit Versa stopped working after swimming with it in the pool. As @NellyG mentioned, Fitbit Versa is swim-proof in a lake, pool, or ocean (up to 50 meters). I recommend following the troubleshooting steps including a restart from this help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
@NellyG thank you for your support.
Keep me posted on the outcome!

This happened to me just yesterday. My watch logged in 4 lengths and then quit. I saw the Fitbit logo and it has been black screen since then.

I had my Versa for just under a year. I recently joined a gym with a swimming pool. I used it for the first training and there was no problem. But when I used it the second time the screen went black within 10 minutes. Most common feedback from Fitbit is "make sure to dry watch after getting wet" (of course this is done) and "try restarting watch" (umm, kind of hard to do when the screen is black and unresponsive) My watch most definitely went black because of expose to water during my swim. Watch is faulty when it comes to water resistance. But no official comment from Fitbit regarding this fault. Some customers have no issues, and others have gone through multiple watches that go black when getting wet.

I received final disposition from engineers that tried to repair my watch. They are refunding my money for the watch as it could not be repaired. Water got inside the watch and they're not able to fix it. So watch is not very water resistant. I think I'll purchase Versa one more time and take it swimming. If it breaks again then I'll start looking for another activity tracker. Most likely from another company. Its unfortunate as I've been with Fitbit for 2 years. I bought a Inspire HR in the meantime, but Fitbit customers cannot have both Versa and Inspire on their account. So I'll be returning Inspire as well. Just doesn't seem like a good business plan to limit customers to the amount of Fitbit products they can have.
