Water logging issue with iOS app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just bought a Fitbit Versa 2 and I have an iPhone. In the advanced settings on my Fitbit account, I have the units for water set to fluid oz. Both my Fitbit app and watch face say "fl oz". Since I've been using the Fitbit (only a few days) this water logging has been an issue.

I enter "8 fl oz" on my versa 2, and it shows up in my Fitbit app as ".3 fl oz" - it's converting between fl oz on the watch to liters on the app. If I restart the watch by holding the button for 10 seconds until the face turns off and back on. Now my watch says what the app says, ".3 fl oz" of water. I deleted the entry from the app and restarted my watch.

I enter "16 fl oz" on my versa 2, and it shows up in my Fitbit app as ".5 fl oz" - afain, it's converting between fl oz on the watch to liters on the app. again, if I restart the watch by holding the button for 10 seconds until the face turns off and back on. Now my watch says what the app says, ".5 fl oz".

This problem is repeating over and over again.

So for research purposes, I delete the water entry again from the app, change my units to ml in the water settings, and restarted my watch. Now the watch and app both say ml. I add "100 ml" of water on my watch. The app says 100ml. Oddly, they are the same. So I change the units under settings to fl oz on the app. It changed the water in the app from 100 ml to 3.4 fl oz, which is correct. My watch still says ml, so I restart it. Once restarted, it still says 100 ml, but then changes at some point to say 3.4 fl oz, which matches the app. So I try again to add "8 fl oz" of water through the watch. AGAIN, it added .3 fl oz of water in the fit bit app.

So I delete the water entries from the app again. The app says "0 fl oz". I decide to shut down my watch by going to setting -> about -> shutdown. The watch shuts down. I leave it off for more than 5 minutes and turn it back on. The watch is still reading the last total entries of water (3.7 fl oz), which have been deleted. The app on my iPhone has been restarted, and it still reads "0 fl oz". After a few seconds, the watch syncs and goes back to "0 fl oz of water".

I try one last time to add "16 fl oz" of water through the watch. Again, it enters it as ".5 fl oz" on the app. At some point my watch syncs with the app, and now the watch says ".5 fl oz" as well. This is definitely converting between oz and liters on the app and needs to be fixed.

Without deleting my last entry, I try something different. I add water to the app, not to the watch. I add "8 fl oz" in the app. The app updates to say "8.5 fl oz" (which is the 8 fl oz I just added, plus the previous entry of .5 fl oz). I check a few minutes later, and the watch says "8.5 fl oz" of water too. I add another "8 fl oz" in the app. The app updates to say "16.5 fl oz". I check a few minutes later, and the watch says "16.5 fl oz" of water too. I try again to add "16 fl oz" of water through the watch. AGAIN, it enters it as ".5 fl oz" on the app. Oddly, there seems to be a rounding issue, so it gives me a total of "17.1 fl oz" for the day. My watch syncs and now says the same thing "17.1 fl oz". To further complicate the issue, when I go to the water log/history detail on my app, it lists the total as "16.5 fl oz" with the following entries: 0.5 fl oz, 8 fl oz, 8 fl oz, 0.5 fl oz. Remember that the 8 fl oz were the ones that I entered through the app. And the 0.5 fl oz were the ones that I entered as "16 fl oz" from my watch.

If anyone has a fix to this issue, please share!! I am disappointed that I got a watch valued at $200, and it has bugs. For this price, I could've gotten something that actually works.

By the way, I searched the forums for this topic before posting. This issue has been previously posted, and a Fitbit rep responded with the following info:

"For Fitbit Versa 2,

1. Hold the back button for 10 seconds.

2. Let go of the buttons.

3. If you still have issues with your device, turn it off and turn it back on. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device? "

This solution does not work! As you can read from the things that I tried above, I restarted the watch multiple times and also turned it off and back on. This solution did not work.

It's not just an iOS issue. My android (Samsung galaxy 7) is doing the same thing. And the issue isn't just with water it has weight lb to kg issue too.

I just bought this device so mine has never worked properly.

This is a bug that fitbit should be working day and night to fix. They should be embarrased. With so many purchased new for the holidays, people will be returning. I already have my return label for mid-January. If the issue isn't resolved by then this garbage is going back.

Fixing it manually every time on the app isn't a solution. Having these logging features on your wrist is the whole point of paying extra for the screen.
