Wearing the Versa while playing sand Volleyball

Hey,

I am wondering if it would be ok to wear my Versa playing sand volleyball? I play quite often in the summer and used to take it off every game but would like to track that information if it wouldn't harm the watch.

Thanks.

@hague2 Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! I would be careful as this is a high impact sport and you actually use your wrists/hands a lot during the game. You know better than anyone else what is your style and how it can impact your Versa. If you want you could try wearing an old watch and see how much it could impact your Versa. Still if you wish to try using your Versa during your games I strongly suggest you use a sport wristband over it. It will keep it secure so it won't fall and it will help reduce the impacts it may receive. Whatever you decide please let us know here.

I play competitive (not picnic or jungle, with blocks jump-serves etc) 2v2 beach volleyball 4-5 times a week for an hour or two a day at work. I have a charge 2 and have been playing withit for 1 1/2 years without issue. I know the versa has a bigger face making it easier to screw it up but remember a beach volleyball is is less than 10 ounces with 2.5 - 3.2 PSI and has a 26-27 in circumference. The point is it is light, wide and can not put very much pressure on the watch. I assume the versa is constructed as well the charge (sand won't get in). The only problem I could see you having is the slow hazing on the face that I am seeing. Hope that helps.

So.... I wore my Fitbit Versa playing sand volleyball for the first time last night. I would highly recommend NOT doing this. After I took off my bands to wash it off and switch to a different band style, I was no longer able to connect the straps. Tiny sand particles are jammed in the area where it clicks up and down and I had to do a lot of work to even be able to get the new straps to stay... but even then I think I may have done irreversible damage to the locking mechanism. It's a shame because I've only owned this thing for about a month and I love it!
