Weather app does not work on my Versa

I tapped the Versa icon, tapped on Apps, tapped the gear icon next to Weather, updated my city and synced the phone to the watch- yet I am getting the following error when I go to Weather on my watch      "No location information... Go to the FitBit mobile app to set up weather".

What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Hi @SandeepPrasad, welcome on board. It's good that the community is growing! I'm sorry for my delayed response.

Thanks for checking the weather app settings, and I'm sorry that you're having this issue. Let's work on this together. There are some factors that may prevent this app from updating, so please check the following settings:

  • Location services must be set to "Always" for the Fitbit app. For instructions, see this help article.
  • All-day sync must be turned on in the Fitbit app.
  • The Fitbit app must remain running in the background on your phone.

Then, if you've not done so, I'd suggest the following steps:

  1. Remove your device from the Bluetooth settings in your phone.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app by swiping up from the open apps.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and tap your Versa's image.
  4. Sync one more time.
  5. Once your device has synced, check the Weather app. It can take a few minutes to see the updated list of locations on your device.

I'll be around, so keep me posted. Robot Happy

Thank you, LizzyFitBit- works like a charm now! Your instructions were very helpful.

Wish these are also mentioned as part of the app since they are not easy to figure out for the average user.

Thanks again for your help.

I tried these methods and they did not work for me. I am able to get the weather when I add a city, but I cannot get it from the "current location". My sister has this problem as well. I have the iphone 7 and she has the iphone 8.

Hi @SunsetRunner. It's great to have you on board. I'm sorry for the delay in my response.

Thanks for taking the time to try the steps posted above, and letting me know that the weather data can be seen after adding your currently location as an additional city. I understand how you're feeling about this feature, and I'm sorry that you and your sister are going through this situation. Just to confirm, besides the steps suggested above, did you make sure the location services were set to Always for the Fitbit app, as well to leave the Fitbit app running on the background? If you've not done so, verify that your iPhone and Fitbit app are updated to the latest version.
