Why cant i install Spotify on my Versa?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have the latest version of the app and the firmware on the watch like the app says you need but it still won't let me download it. It's very frustrating and I would appreciate some help. I'd like to know why it's so complicated to update the watch as well. Idk how to update it but it does tell me the firmware and according to google it is the latest version so maybe that's why I cant see an option to update the watch. Anyboday that can walk me through this would be a godsend. Have a great day. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Nice to see that you're digging into the Forums @Yauglet, let me give you a warm welcome to our Community. My apologies for the delay.

I'll be glad to give you a hand with this. On Versa series, use the Spotify app to control the music playing on the Spotify app on your phone, computer, or other device, and to like songs and switch between playlists. Note that your watch must be running Fitbit OS 4.0 or later to download the Spotify app from the Fitbit App Gallery. You can see this help article: How do I install and manage apps on my Fitbit watch?

Note the following requirements:

  • Confirm that you phone is listed here: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?
  • The Spotify app on your watch doesn’t support offline music playback, so your paired phone must remain nearby with the Fitbit app running in the background and connected to the internet.
  • A Spotify Premium subscription is required. For information on Spotify Premium, see support.spotify.com.
  • You must have the Spotify app open on the device playing music. For more information on Spotify Connect, see spotify.com.

To control the Spotify app from your watch:

  1. In the Fitbit app, tab the Today tab

     > your profile picture > your device image > Apps.
  2. Tap the gear icon

     next to Spotify.
  3. Tap Log in and follow the on-screen instructions to log in to your Spotify Premium account.
  4. Open the Spotify app on your phone or other device and begin playing music.
  5. Open the Spotify app on your watch to control music.
    • Tap the devices icon

to switch between devices. To see a device, you must have the Spotify app open on that device and be logged in to your account. Up to 8 devices are listed.
    • Tap the shuffle icon

       to shuffle the tracks.
    • Tap the heart icon

       to like a track.
    • Use the controls to play, pause, or skip to the next track or previous track.
    • Swipe right to see your 8 most recently played playlists, or tap Library to find the playlists you created, the playlists created for you, and a selection of workout playlists. Tap a playlist to switch to it.
    • For troubleshooting, see Why can't I control music with my Fitbit device?

If you're having issues to update your Versa, please take a look of this information: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? Your Fitbit Versa should be running version 32.68.9.15. If you can't see an update pending on the Dashboard, you can remove your Versa from the Fitbit app and from the Bluetooth settings. When trying to set it up again you will be prompted to update it.

  1. Make sure it is connected to Wi-Fi before it starts the update process.
  2. Charge your Versa while connected to Wi-Fi.

I'll be around if you have more questions. Happy holidays.
