Wrong HR Reading While Cycling

Hi,

I know this is a problem lots of people have had, and I have read a lot about it, but I am yet to come across a solution which works. When I am cycling, quite often my Fitbit Versa doesn't read my heart rate correctly. It's either much lower than it should be, or it is just --. I have tried the suggested solutions I have found: wearing it higher on the wrist and tighter. I wear it a couple of inches above my wrist, and as tight as I can (without it affecting the blood flow). And also stop it slipping down my wrist by wearing a headband right under it. But even when it's not moving at least half the times I check it's not reading the hr correctly.

This is really frustrating for me because one of the main reasons I bought my Fitbit was to track my hr while cycling. Is there a solution for this, or should I just accept that Fitbit is not good enough for what I need and I should try a different activity tracker?

Thanks,

Hasti

Hi @hasti, it's nice to see you again in our Community Forums! I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing the difficulty you're having with tracking your heart rate during cycling. I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue and following the tips to improve the accuracy. I totally understand how you are feeling as you would like to use all the features of your watch without any problems. If you haven't done so, I'd like you to restart your device as described in this help article. This will refresh your watch internally.

Please monitor your Versa and let me know if you see any improvements.

Hi. I did try restarting my fitbit, and if anything  it has got worse. Now even when it is reading the heart rate, quite often it is not correct.

Anything else I could try?
