Very unhappy took away all day sync. User's should have the option. It is dangerous & illegal to have to open the app when driving. Fitbit will be sued if it causes an accident. Give us an update that reinstalls all day sync.

Hi @Rickmag72 there are people voting to restore that ability on the Feature Suggestions forum area. Many states have laws against using a smartphone while driving. I did check and found this: "Jul 24, 2018 - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) claims that eating is more distracting while driving than using a cell phone to text or talk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that eating and driving increases the likelihood of crashes by 80%." So would you say McDonalds or Burger King would be held responsible for an accident if someone was eating a burger or munching on some fries ?

All-day sync is still in effect - what FitBit has done is remove the option to turn it off.

  • Your mobile app will initiate a sync every 15 minutes.
  • If you place the app in the background and leave it there it will still sync after 15 minutes.
  • If you bring it to the foreground before the 15 minutes are up it will sync and restart the 15-minute "sync clock".

This is what I have found to be true with the iOS app and both my Charge 3 prior to January 30th and my Versa 2 since that time, including when All-day sync was an option.

You can verify this by leaving the app alone and checking out you web dashboard were the last sync time is displayed to the right of the date selector. I just did it and went from "Last Sync: 14 mins ago" to "Last Sync: just now" in about 30 seconds. My phone has been in my pocket with a locked screen and the app in the background for the past 10 minutes or so.

Perform your own tests if you'd like.

Good luck and welcome to the boards.

Also, why would you care if it was syncing while you are driving? You won't have it open, correct? Because it is dangerous and illegal, right?

And as soon as you open the app once your car trip is over it will sync.

Even if you drove for over 24 hours, your device keeps detail level statistics for a week before having to summarize at the daily level.

I fail to see your concern, although it is ill-advised.
