connecting when starting exercise

My Versa 2 isn't always connected to the GPS on my iPhone 8+. It seems I have to leave the FitBit application running on my phone and even then it doesn't always connect right away. You will see the message "connecting" when you "start" and exercise but it doesn't change. Other times it connects almost immediately...yikes! What am I doing wrong?

Yes @jpshark and @Edwii your Fitbit needs to be running in the background. 

Try moving the Fitbit app to the background before the screen times out.

Let me know what happens.

I restarted my iPhone and my Versa and that worked.
