I have checked settings, turned on GPS for walking / running exercises. I have gone for walk, not tracking distance, it will tell me steps but not km/mi. I don’t know how to make it work? I have my fitbit synced. Anybody have any ideas how this works?

Thank you

Relying on auto-recognizing walk or using Exercise App to start and end walk?

Thank you for your reply.

I have been relying on auto-recognising, and it is recognising the walk (but only the steps and time - not distance). I have had my phone with me for each walk also. Does the fitbit app need to be constantly open? Can you not close it down?

I believe it will show distance only if you track the walk/run from the Exercise App, not if it is auto-recognized.  I have no idea why that is the case.
