I got my watch first fitbit watch a versa new from eBay 3 months ago and it has already stopped working. I call support and they can't help me because the warranty is not recognized because I bought from ebay. Wow this is a bad first experience. Is it normal for these watches to stop working so soon? I will not be purchasing anything else from fitbit. I will be going back to Garmin. My previous watch was Garmin from eBay and when it started acting up they honored the warranty. So back to them I go.✌️

It clearly states in the warranty that it only covers the ones that are on their retail list
Sorry you did not read it first. But there is no way they can verify a eBay seller
And no all my Devices have lasted 3 years or more

I'm having the exact same issue. I purchased a new versa 2 on ebay 2 months ago for the same price $150 I could have purchased on Amazon. I didn't think it was a big deal. I went swimming yesterday for the first time wearing the watch and today it's totally dead. I do get a battery icon with a red exclamation point when I try to charge although that's it. Fitbit won't honor anything purchased via ebay. The ebay seller told me I'm outside of the 30 day return window... So, looks like I have to eat it. I will say, after this experience, I'm done buying fitbit products.

@Filmguy5 How is this Fitbits fault? Many Companies don't warranty Ebay purchases. It could be stolen, used, or anything in between. In fact, I've seen someone on here bragging they were getting warranty replacements and putting them on Ebay.

@MarkMM I've purchased alot of electronics on ebay. Occasionally I have issues with the electronic device I purchased. I've never had a problem reaching out to the manufacturer for assistance or for replacement if it's new and under a year. The fitbit versa 2 was listed as new. It came in a fitbit box with shrink wrap around the versa 2. There were no scratches on the device because it was brand new... the battery after charging gave me over a week (9 days) of wear if I shut off the heart monitor. If it was refurbished or the like, the battery wouldn't be that strong out of the box. Fitbit understands that it's selling new units to 3rd party resellers. It's really convenient and cost saving for them... that they don't have to honor the warranty on new fitbits sold outside of their online store or Amazon. Yes, I take partial blame for not understanding their re-seller warranty on new fitbits... That said, it really is convenient and cost saving to them to not help me with my new purchase. So, this business practice informs my decision not to purchase from them again.
