iPhone text notifications not working

Had my versa 2 days now and love it except I’m not receiving text notifications (or messenger or WhatsApp but I’m not worried about those right now). My versa vibrates for calls and snapchat but no texts. I’ve tried rebooting, etc but no joy. I have an iPhone 6S

So I am having this same issue - I have an iPhone 6s and was forced to update to iOS 12.1.2 due to an invalid SIM card notification. Since my update I receive call alerts and calendar alerts on my phone, but NOT text alerts which are the ones that are the most important to me. I have done everything on the troubleshooting items twice and I'm still not getting the text notifications when someone texts me. Everything was fine until I took the 12.1.2 update - I think this is Apple's way to get us to buy an Apple watch!

I am still having this issue and have been for the past two weeks - is there any update?  I've attempted all the different workarounds mulitple times with no luck.

Can someone tell me if this issue has been fixed or if it’s still a problem? Thanks.

it's fixed! I noticed that my versa was not reading my heartrate so I restarted it. The heartrate reappeared and I started getting the notifications from my phone for texts and calls!!

Update

well it’s now been 7 months and in that time I have had precisely 5 text notifications- which I can only assume were a random fluke.

Please, please, please Fitbit - get your tech team on this and sort out the software update so the notifications actually work!

I bought a new Versa last week to replace my Blaze that I had for years. Everything seems to sync up and work EXCEPT the call and text notifications. I have deleted the app and started all over with set up and again, everything works except the notifications. I have checked and re-checked to be sure all the right buttons are in the correct position.  Pretty frustrating.......any suggestions?

I've rebooted and re-installed all and still no Text or Call notifications. Everything else seems to work fine.

I have an i-phone 8 with 12.2 software version.  Here is my question now. Is this a phone problem that this version of i-phone is unable to work with my Fitbit? In that case, I need to find another tracking devise.

If it is a Fitbit problem and it is being looked into, then I'll wait for any progress on this.

I just don't know which way to go with this, do I take the Fitbit back and get my money back or wait for a solution?

Hope to hear something soon, Thanks,

I first reported this issue back in September and asked the same thing - is this being sorted or do I need to return my Fitbit? I was told that ‘tech team were working on it and a software solution would be imminent’. I waited and apart from 3 text alerts in one day after I complained bitterly that Fitbit were selling a product that did not meet description and therefore it was not fit for purpose - then no text alerts since. I have an iPhone 6S iOS 12.2.

At the time I first complained I looked back at previous posts and found that people had been complaining about this issue for months (Jan ‘18) - I should have returned my Fitbit while I still could 😡 instead of waiting for a solution that never came.

Hi all 🙂 I recently got a Versa and for the first week or so I was getting text, call, calendar notifications on it perfectly on my iPhone 8+...

Then all of a sudden last week I just stopped getting notifications on Versa with me not making any changes at all... So frustrating. I've tried shutting down, checking all the notifications settings and nothing is working!

I can not return my Versa and I would have gotten a different Smart Watch if I knew the notifications would not work on the $200.00+ Versa ! This is just ridiculous! This should not be something I should have to try to fix with a brand new Smart Watch!

@FitbitCommunity Please help and FitBit PLEASE fix this issue if it is indeed a FitBit App software issue that is causing this. Or at least offer replacements for all of us having this same issue!

Sync your steps from today. Disconnect the device from Bluetooth. Delete it from the fitbit app. Add it back as a new device. Tried 10 different things for my wife's and only this worked. I texted her and it worked. She texted herself and it worked. iPhone X and a Versa.

Thank you! This worked! Hopefully I don’t have to do it again.

I had the exact same issue. Tried remedies in the online community and nothing helped. Contacted customer support. They asked me to do the exact same things I’ve already done. After an hour with them I heard the exact same thing. This is a known problem and we will contact you when we find a remedy. I’m thinking of finding another brand. This is terrible customer service.

I am encountering the same problem. I receive calls etc, but no text messages. It was working just fine yesterday. Now today, it just stopped. Any remedies please share!!

@Fitbit here is some data you may not have...

TL;DR restart your phone each morning.

Problem: no phone notifications on versa (iPhone XS latest OS)

Troubleshooting: everything in this thread and then some

Conclusions: the issue is solved if I do a phone restart (turn off and on) - notifications resume.

I have also found that when Bluetooth is toggled (off and on)  this breaks mitigation’s as well. (Phone restart resolves)

IIRC there is some iOS magic that resets Wi-Fi and Bluetooth each day (eg if you disable one or both day 1, it is automagically enables in the morning) which IMO is causing this problem with versa.

iOS Bluetooth settings still show Versa connected.

Sync is still allowed, but in my experience GPS sharing does not work.

AFAIK this is the only Bluetooth I own  device that has this problem.
