My versa registers more steps than friends with other smart watches-a lot more.  Any suggestions on how to know what is accurate? They get 6,000 and I get 7500 or more

Same problem. Steps way off on Versa 2 compared to Versa. So is sleep.

Hi @BostonSportsDoc, welcome to the community.

I would suggest walking and counting 100 or 200 steps and see if your Fitbit agrees with it over that period.

Right now it is set for 25 inches per step. I actually take 2 steps per 36 inches/18 inches per step.
Example, last night went to bed at 11:50 and asleep within 10 minutes. Awoke at 7:52. My watch showed I did 967 steps during that time. I only got up once and total steps could not be more than 50. Not a turner and tosser. Happens every night on Versa 2. On Versa I would have about 50 steps. At 2 pm have 9,182 steps. Fed horses in morning otherwise been in my small house. Old Versa gave me 2,000 to 2,500 steps for this , about right in comparison to Apple Watch. Versa 2 gave me over 4,000 and no way walked another 5,000 plus steps.
I will count 200 steps but know it will be way off Had Versa for 2 years and pretty accurate. Versa 2 for 1 week and both sleep and walk way off.
Thanks.
