my average resting heart rate has been 45-50 for years. today around 4:30 my fitbit versa has been showing a consistent heart rate above 140 while i'm at rest. this is skyrocketing my active minutes and my calories burned and making my analytics completely inaccurate. i've restarted my versa twice and it goes back to normal at first then after some time i notice it's shooting back up again. this is absolutely ridiculous and i hope it is a software issue that can be fixed. my fitbit is maybe a year old and it should not be dying this soon. i've been a longtime user of fitbit, started with the flex to the blaze and now the versa, but this issue if left unresolved, may just make me finally switch to the apple watch.
ETA: i've deleted and re-downloaded the app and restarted my fitbit again to no avail. now saying my current HR is 111 as i sit on the couch.
ETA 2: it is now the next day and i have realized the lights are not working on my versa and i assume that's what is causing my issue. after rummaging the forums this afternoon, i have found that this is nothing new. fitbit has been aware of this issue since they first released the versa, apparently. their only solution is to replace it if it's within warranty or just tell you to buy a new one if it's past warranty. fitbit continues to sell these faulty versa watches with no real solution. i have to decided to finally leave fitbit after 5+ years of buying their products. good luck to you all who stay!
