Public preview tracking a sport

ANSWERED

Hi I recently updated my PW4 LTE to the March update and now it doesn't track steps during sports. I just got done playing soccer which I picked sport mode instead as it is a default option on the main screen. Anyway during our time playing we were out there for 1 hours and 22 minutes. However when I checked my steps it barely logged 1,000 steps. I really don't think I only moved 1,000 steps. This wasn't an issue before the update. Also during other sports it stops tracking them as well. HR is fine but steps are gone. It's like I didn't move.

Hello @jfm1424

This is a known issue for Pixel Watch users after the March update. As far as I know, the team is aware of the issue and is working on fixing the problem. However, we haven't seen a timeline for the fix.

One watch user noticed they got step tracking using Treadmill as the activity for their Elliptical sessions. I believe a user tried the generic Workout, but that didn't track steps.

For now, please submit this issue using the Feedback option in the Fitbit app:

  • Tap your avatar in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap Feedback in the menu that opens
  • Complete the prompt and submit

Although it's likely that you won't get a response, we've gotten confirmation that the team reviews every submitted feedback report and uses the information for issue investigation.
