Ability to change daily goals without changing all past days

We should be able to change our goals without changing all of our past goals.
For example, on holiday break I was happy to lower my goal to 5,000 steps. Or converter, some days I want to do more and want to up my goal to 15,000 or even 20,000...but then It changes all the past days.

Currently when you change the step goal it applies to all of your past activity.  We need the ability to indicate this new goal applies to the future and not the past, so you don't eliminate old step accomplishments.  Ex: 10000 goal, achieved regularly. New goal 13000, but now it appears that you haven't reached your goal in the past, based on your new raised goal? 13000 vs 10000

I'm with you! I quit using mine mid summer. I will not recommend this product to friends - the company is not responsive enough!

I finally quit using my Fitbit. The company is not hearing our concerns or recommendations. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Are there other fitness trackers that do allow you to change your goals with outchanging previous meet goals?

I haven't really investigated others. Fitbit really turned me off

Yes PLEASE. The whole concept of improving is based on hitting goals, then increasing them. That shouldn't undervalue our past progress.

This thread is over 2 1/2 years old. It is obvious that Fitbit isn't looking at it and/or doesn't care. I am removing my follow to this thread as it is a waste of my time to read the many posts by people that wan't this simple change made

Can we have the ability to change our goals without past data being affected?

I agree. But seeing this was first suggested in 2014 is concerning. I was sent over here after I suggested the idea on Twitter.

It deffinitly should be a feature. I'm slowly increasing my step goal, but then finding that all past goals "are not met" because of the current way the goals work.

Fitbit Support said the feature "was being considered", but is it really? This thread is from 2014. COME ON.

sooo.. this was posted nearly 3 years ago. Any update on this? i NEED this! i'm addicted to as much green on my screen as i can get, which leads me to run on resting days. Which is leading to injuries 😞

One more voice to the cry - maybe if it gets loud enough ????

Surely it can't be that difficult a coding issue that it should take 2 years to find a work around ??

Other programs/apps have adjustable daily goals for various things.

I've been fitbitting for 3 years and have never upped my goal cause my head can't handle that it destroys all my historical data.  Maybe just start with that. Give us the ability to set a start date for a new step goal that then affects only future data not past data.

Make sure you're VOTING for this feature. The vote button is to the left of the first post.

I'd love this too! It would be nice to adjust my calorie expenditure for different days as well.

I totally agree! A different step goal for certain days would be a great feature.

I am in a state of disbelief that something so simple cannot be accomplished. I am discouraged that this thread began in 2014. It is now January 2017. Come on Fitbit. At least comment on this to let your users know: 1. If you really do plan on making this change and 2. If not, why not? Or if so, when and what has taken so darn long? I am not a technology expert so perhaps this is way more complicated than it seems. Information, please.

Psychology tells us people make up their own information when none is provided. And annoyed people who do not feel heard will probably spread their made up information, turning off potential future users. As an investor in the company, in addition to being a user of your tech, I'd rather hear it from Fitbit. Come on folks. Let's get proactive.

I do wish Fitbit would allow us to set a target for each day of the week. I have no trouble meeting my 14k target M-F, but struggle on the weekends when I am sat watching kids sports and/or wanting to relax for a minute. Similarly, I have many weekend warrior friends who are tied to their desk during the week.

I'll admit I haven't read all the posts here, but the general theme seems to be that people want to be able to increase goals without it changing their pastcaccomplishments. I agree, but also would like to set goals by days of the week. For example, I know I can get 12,000 steps on a weekend, but that goal is too lofty for a work day where I've got many meetings.

Different goals for different days.

I just changed my 250 step goal from 10 hours to 12. When I did that, I lost all my previous GOOD JOB markings on days I got 10/10, because some of those days I got 11/12 now or only 10/12. I think previous days you met your goals should not change.

The same can go with every goal. # steps in a day, I changed it once and the same thing happened. Time slept. etc etc.

Thank you for considering!

I would love to be able to customize my daily step goal for each day of the week without having to manually change it in the app. I take many more steps during the week so then I struggle on weekends to reach the same goal. Please consider this update to the app!

As an added request for this request can we have a weekly target that are made up from the targets fe set for each day?
