Able to manually log mindfulness sessions in Mindfulness tile

To be able to manually log mindfullness sessions, just like you can manually log a walk, or other exercises. I like the ‘time’ and ‘reflection’ aspects of it and how it appears in the ‘my journey’ section. If I was able to manually log it, I could listen to other apps, or no apps at all, but still log it in the mindfullness section.

I'm stress management. Section of the app is great. Please consider adding the ability to log any mindfulness activities or meditations done outside of the app from other sources. You going to do this with food and exercise already so it should be an easy add

Yes please!!!!   It’s already possible to log meditation as an exercise.   It should not be too hard to reflect that as part of the mindfulness tracking.

Allow us to add my own mindfulness events? The current preselected options are terrible

Hi @npwest, thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to log your meditation sessions on the Mindfulness tile of the Fitbit app  with us. Hello , the mindfulness tracking is great. However , by forcing folks to use your version of mindfulness you are excluding practitioners of the centuries old practices through lineage in eastern practices such as Buddhism and yoga.

So I recently discovered that if you just mute the app let the session run it will track the minutes you practice for.

I still think having a official way to let users log their practice in the way they see fit makes sense - at least I've found an unsupported work around.

That's a good idea. Thanks

@Terriwcrawfordyeah I found out it worked by accident - would still like to see this feature added as it doesn't seem like it is _that_ code intensive.

Agreed. This is needed!

So I got the new app update, and I noticed the mindfulness tracking but found it really weird there was no plus button.

And then I found out that people have been asking for this simple feature for years 🤣

I also want the ability to log my own mindfulness minutes. Just like we log food and other things. I do practice meditation on a daily basis, but not alway enjoy Fitbit suggestions

Please, please, do take on the feedback from many users and add the ability to manually log mindfulness/meditation sessions in the app alongside using the built in guided sessions.

It's clear from this and other threads that there's extensive demand for this over a few years, so it's surprising and disappointing it's still not been implemented.

It's an important part of my wellbeing and I prefer to follow my existing practice using unguided and other guided resources, as is clearly case for a lot of users.

Option to log mindfulness manually. Not only do I do mindfulness on my own because there is no non-music/no-talking meditation option on the Fitbit app, but often I do not get the prompt directly after completing a session to log my mindfulness. It glitches out and does not record my sessions.

I LOVE this idea. Would ALSO like ability to update from insight timer, headspace and the like. I would prioritize whichever one(s) of these apps update to fitbit app.

I posted a new request on this topic when I couldn’t find this post, but now I have again.

please PLEASE add this feature to log mindfulness manually. We can already do this with food and water and such like, and many people have been asking for this for years.

Personally, I do not like the mindfulness content because there is too much talking or music, and not nearly long enough sessions for me. I would rather meditate on my own, or with a different, unobtrusive meditation app, and log my minutes manually.

The mindfulness side of the app also glitches for me often! I will complete a 30min session and then it won’t ask me the, “do you want to log this session?” prompt. I know this is just an app, but I do enjoy having all my stats in one place, and it frustrates me to see empty mindfulness days when I did practice.

Furthermore, if I fall asleep to a “fall asleep meditation,” it will log hours and hours of mindfulness spent sleeping. Not the worst thing, but this part of the app needs obvious help. Thank you.

Thank you for backing me up on this issue.

Having worked as a software and app developer I know that there can be a
simple fix to this request.

As old as this issue is, and considering how many people are looking for a
solution, I am beginning to believe there is a deliberate reason FitBit is
not fixing it. The thing that comes to mind is requiring us to use their
mindfulness programs, which requires us to pay for a premium subscription.

Any feedback from other users on this observation?

Any feedback from the company on this observation?

That was *exactly* what I was thinking. Sigh.

It’s because we already bought the device; they don’t care about servicing
it. Once you’re in their ecosystem, you’re SOL. Google doesn’t care about
this forum, our requests, or servicing the Fitbits at all. Look throughout
this forum. Years of evidence showcases they dgaf about user requests or
bettering their product.

I for one would be much more likely to pay for Premium when my trial period runs out and to update my physical product to another Fitbit in future if this was sorted.

I partially agree that after an initial investment you're tied in to their ecosystem. It does give reasons to stay, but these products have a limited life as battery life deteriorates (unless you're willing to DIY replace battery), the payment for Premium is a prompt to look at other options when that comes round and they're far from being the only game in town in terms of hardware or the app.

I think they're really missing a trick and maybe underestimating that mindfulness and/or meditation are an important part of wellbeing for a lot of people.

It's frustrating for users and a shame not to implement a pretty simple fix that would meet a lot of folks need.

I'm currently at the beginning of my 6 month trial, and for myself it will be a significant factor in whether I stick with them or go elsewhere when it comes to subscription time. As it stands with this issue being ignored, I'm quite likely to go elsewhere.

Same! I already have mindfulness sessions I like to use and would like to have the flexibility to do what works, but still track the sessions against my mindfulness goal.

This is absolutely what I need. I have very specific meditations I do, and have no interest in doing the meditation videos or audio recordings provided by Fitbit premium. I would like a way to log my other meditations and focus times so I can keep track of them in my Fitbit dashboard.
