Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

I would like to know a good alternative, too.  I'm considering Apple Watch, but the requirement to charge multiple times every day is a major negative.  I'm spoiled with my Charge 5 needing charging only once a week!

I doubt Google is reading any of these comments, and even if the Suits do, they don't care and won't revert back.  I'm guessing their plan is to run Fitbit into the ground, stop supporting, then force Fitbit customers to switch Google's own (but not at good) version of a fitness tracker and smartwatch.  Guess what?  Many/Most/All will not switch and will shop elsewhere!

The new layout is counterintuitive. It highlights the less important features while minimizing the most important ones. The colors are muted so it’s harder to differentiate features and does not display any detailed data without having to first click on the feature now. It destroyed a perfect system, made things cumbersome and less fun

I couldn't agree more. This new interface is horrible and will push me towards a different product rather than fitbit! Also why not give us a range of new clock faces.

I completely agree.  I thought the last major update was a disaster, that one literally took away all the fun; no more fun colors, boring "parties" when you close each circle, and an even more boring one when you close them all by the end of the day.  I haven't even found all of the things that have been ruined yet, I'm sure, but every time I pick up my phone to look at something I used to refer to regularly, I discover it isn't there anymore, or something about it has been changed for the worse.  But most aggravating of all is the inability to customize the screen so that I can see what  want to see.  Why in the world would you make it less customizable?  That makes literally no sense.  You have to know people's lives revolve around that dang screen.  It's just rude.  So glad I have to see my weight now just so I can monitor my heart rate (insert eyeroll here).  End of rant, I have a feeling I'll be shopping for a new device soon.

The new interface is bulky, hard to read and uninspiring. It hides the info I want and presents information in a really ugly way. I dont like it and I wont be able to continue with a fitbit charge 5 if this app and interface are the only option. Its horrible to look at.
Also, why not give us some nice new clock interfaces.

I looked at my mobile today and wondered what on earth had happened. This is a real retrograde step and I hate it. It is always hard getting used to a new format but this one means I don’t have control over the info I want to see and the colour scheme means that the information that is there is not very accessible. Badly done, Fitbit , badly done. I’m afraid it’s a game changer for me.

Where has concise daily record gone now have to scroll scroll scroll to find what I want, lack of colour makes it a bland interface and section am looking for no longer jumps out to me, very disappointed now have to relearn using the app as if I am not busy enough - designers need to know this is a very bad job bring back precious app please

Agree I have been with Fitbit for over 10 years, the new app & design of a “new” Fitbit community is horrible. Shame on Fitbit for completely destroying a community of fun & support from walking with fellow group members.  I canceled my premium membership when they took the walking groups away. Now the Fitbit remnants r being altered to reflect an individual participating alone without human & caring support in a juvenile way!! I had a major life threatening illness & my community of walkers were there for me. Fitbit now is cold & uncaring. I have an Apple Watch & it does a much better job of tracking my statistics than Fitbit plus one can actually swim long distances (miles) with it. Every Fitbit device I had could not endure my 2 miles a week swimming schedule. My Apple Watch has accurately tracked my swimming schedule for over 2.5 years. I kept my Fitbit hoping the human element & walking groups or something better would come back, nothing beats that small group who share similar interests support. Now the new app is unacceptable, rigid & cold & really not attractive to track my data any longer. The Fitbit wearer has NO choice but to accept what is provided. I have earned all the top badges during my Fitbit days but now it is time to retire my Fitbit (yes I wore a Fitbit & Apple Watch for years on each wrist. My Apple Watch has an emergency alert feature that could save one’s  life feature that is top notch!!   Although I usually welcome change, there is NOTHING positive about the appearance of the app & its features that do not always the track my data accurately, the lack  of human touch & caring & joy of Fitbit have NOW been totally lost. Shame on you Fitbit for taking away the real joy of using a Fitbit device!!

Couldn’t agree more! How this app design was approved is completely beyond me. The move to minimalist design is so jarring

Stop repeated metrics on app. For example, I have steps as a very large icon at the top of the Home Screen. I don’t need an additional line item for it below. This just wastes space and requires more scrolling and sifting through unwanted stuff.

I agree on the ugly new app.  I really don’t care how pretty it is, but it’s much less user friendly.

I received some big email from Fitbit stating they may not consider our thoughts blah blah blah. I soon will be going to an Apple Watch. I’ve had Fitbit forever but this is a bit ridiculous and very immature.

Hi,

This is absolutely insane that I had to create this account in order to give feedback when I was just looking for a support number. Which has only made my decision to switch to Apple easier. I’ve been a devoted, the big customer for close to a decade, and I rely on the app daily. I was forced to upgrade to a new interface, which is terrible, and not user-friendly from my perspective at all. I was trying to contact support to see if there was any way to switch back to the old app and after having to jump through hoops just to leave this message which will most likely never be seen or heard by anyone on the Fitbit team I have made the decision to make the move to an Apple Watch.

Fitbit should notify users several days before an update is going to occur. The notice should include what the changes will be and instructions.

I'm disillusioned to read that Fitbit is taking the position that they won't be considering input from users. Definitely not very user friendly. I've worn one since 2015 but I can always get used to an Apple watch.

The new app interface looks wonky, cluttered, confusing and ugly. It is not user friendly at all and is confusing to use. Please bring back the previous interface, it was lovely. Or, make something better, not worse. It was like there was no quality control, comparison made with the previous interface, or user feedback before releasing this. I don’t usually comment on public forums but I really, really don’t like it at all and I am paying a Premium price and use my Fitbit and app several times daily.

I absolutely agree. The new dashboard screen is not only ugly, but it is bulky. The prior screen was much easier to look at and much easier to use. I am on the verge of getting rid of Fitbit totally. I don’t even have the ability to change the size of text, which is now overwhelmingly, large, and useless 🤬

I HATE this new app!! It’s enough to make me change to a different company. This is unpleasant to look at, frustrating to use, and is is LESS intuitive and customizable. WHY????

The new app is horrible. In every way. Goal streaks are gone. Visual look of it is like my 11 year old niece designed it. No battery tracker. It’s absolutely a failure. My friends and family and I are looking at moving to a different tracker. We’ve all use Fitbit for years.

The new app is a big fail for me. Features I counted on before are not there or buried. Why no available battery life?  I used that feature all the time.  Both to remember to charge and know when my watch was charged on the charger. Too much scrolling and having to tap things to find information that was readily available before.  Eg., I liked the colorful activity zone minutes on the old app. Even with what you can customize, it just is boring, and takes too much screen scrolling.  I just bought a new fitbit.  If I knew this was coming, I would have looked at other options.

I have the same problem you can not make changes to the layout as you could on the previous version, I think the new version is a step backwards do not like it

My next purchase will NOT be a Fitbit. The new app is horrendous. It's ugly, difficult to edit and make useful, and it seems designed to steer you into paid programs. I already bought the watch.

Fitbit is to blame, not Google. When you don't care about your customers, and throw them and what they want, under the bus for a big payday, you really did not make the app to help, but to help your pockets. You make a very nice device that needs some tweaks here and there, then you upgrade the device and remove the functions we like, and say oh sorry, you don't really need to know how many floors you are climbing anymore. It's just a waste of time trying to tell them what to do, What I don't get is this, what does it cost you to leave the things we want in there? Ab, so and lutely, nothing. I was looking for the battery percentage...it helps a lot while the fitbit is being charged to see the progress, but nope, they have move it to you having to click, twice and still not get the percentage, but now you get an estimate, yes!! Rubbish, do these people who come up with these stupid changes actually use the devices? If they did we won't be here complaining...

Fitbit, Google, do the needful, bring back what we want, at least make it an option to keep the old look
