Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

@Abuela2023 there is no feature for us to revert back to the old app but they can change the app any way they want to in a future update. I’ll wait until the next update if I can hold out that long but if they don’t fix it then I’m out.

@Lyne I dont know why Fitbit support people are unable to put suggestions forward or share feedback with their higher-ups. They just say to put feedback in the forum but who knows if anyone even looks at these comments

What Nymdok wrote is absolutely SPOT ON. The new interface is horrible. Please bring back the old app interface!

Nymdok’s clear and concise explanation on the improvements needed to the new app upgrade are great!

My biggest pet peeve is the battery display is not easily found (had to reach out to cust support to ask where it is as its not on the main screen any longer).   Why does this matter?  The battery drains and you have no idea what the charge level is until it’s drained - poor poor UX and customer experience.
Now you need to tap on device icon only to then have to look  for the ‘small’ battery icon to see if its full medium or low.  Why is it a problem to not show us the percentage - didn't think my eyesight was that bad - but hard to see.
Do love my Fitbit and hope they make the appropriate changes (show us more of our data and BATTERY PERCENTAGE!).
It may be time to start looking at other options like an Apple watch.

They are not bringing the old app back. Google took the technology and used it to improve the fledgling Pixel Watch. Then, it tanked Fitbit...to push the base to the $350+ Pixel. It wasn't a mistake. It wasn't a "stupid" tech guy. It was a corporate strategy. Fitbit Charge 5 was the #1 fitness tracker, despite costing far less than its competitors. Google saw an opportunity to capitalize on that gap. It's a real loss.

Jessica Faith:

You hit the proverbial: “mail on the head”!

Google purchased Fitbit to obtain (rape) Fitbit of their market leading
technology and use it to integrate it into Googles higher priced product
line.

Google is taking a gamble in degrading the Fitbit App and hopes the
majority of registered users will be led to purchase Google products as
replacements. I am sure that future updates of the Fitbit App will begin to
have less information and appeal. Google has rolled the dice and hopes they
will gain market share.

1. I want to see the battery %
2. The size of the font is too large but I can't reduce it.

The new display layout in the app for the Fitbit Sense is no longer customizable for viewing at a glance what is important to me. When I am busy, I don't want to scroll all over the place to find what is important to me. Please consider reverting back to the previous version that allowed for customer customization of the display screen.

I scoped out the rhymes with toilet paper brand and there is a nice basic band type with a good looking app-will be buying that once I'm tired of looking at watch face for apps (updated app has been removed from my phone!)

As they hoped, I will be switching from my Fitbit, but to the to another brand. Just waiting so I can easily add one thousand days to a new total (just over a week away). That this was the plan in hopes we’d switch to their new pricier option is the final nail.

I agree, it’s so different and we as customers get no say in it.
I spoke to online chat, who said they are looking at on line feedback / complaints.

@FitbitUser101

Taking off the watch during sleep might sound grand. But, for me, keeping track of my Sleep and HR etc, is one of the Main reasons I have a Fitbit.

Yes, it's great that I can also swim/bathe with it on.

But this new (app) is truely utterly Awful. Looks like something designed for use on an Atari or in M.S Dos.

Trying to figure out my exercise, step count etc now is a mission. And as others have mentioned, this new (app) is awful, for those whom are Colourblind. I have quite a few friends with a varied spectrum of Colourblindness.

This (app) is not any form of an improvement, and if it wasn't f9r the factor, of being able to still link my phone to watch to get messages etc. I would likely have already Purged it, as many are doing.

Yes, I had the same issue. It took my husband and I quite a bit of time to get it working again. Ultimately, he went through a series of steps and then turned off my phone and it started working again. We really weren't sure why it stopped and how it suddenly started again. Very concerning.

I couldn't find another place to do this so I will complain here. I absolutely HATE what you've done to the Fitbit app. It is ugly and does not function smoothly or properly.

I agree. The new Colours are unclear and don’t make sense. No motivation or clarity there.

Absolutely agree with the comments about the ugliness of the redesign. Not seen anyone point out the following specific loss of features (apologies if they have and I've missed it), but it used to be the case that when looking at an exercise, there were several data graphs to look at, including cal burnt rate, but now there is only the heart rate graph, the rest are gone! Why?? Why have you litterally taken data away from us? Additionally, I occasionally forget to end an exercise on my Fitbit until a while after finishing, and so I need to sometimes edit the duration of an exercise. This used to be simple enough, and the app would automatically adjust the calories burned to the shorter duration, now, with less graphs, it's slightly harder for me to work out what to change the duration too, and it no longer adjusts calories burned! It just keeps the same amount of cal burnt as before, which is incredibly annoying!

In short, this update has made the app uglier and given us less data and features, and pretty much everyone hates it. I can't help but wonder if this is Google intentionally killing Fitbit off to sway people to buy a Google pixel. I can certainly say I've gone from potentially picking up a charge 6 when it comes out, to probably looking for a different brand altogether, and it certainly won't be a Google device!

I agree, very boring colors and I am having a hard time looking at it and maneuvering around.  Solution - Allow user customizations. If Fitbit doesn't what to change the colors, they should allow the user to customize their own screens, which will create a more dynamic user experience. The should allow the user to select different colors for different sections and/or change the background on the screen. I hope Fitbit will listen to the users and consider adding user customizations.

This may help with the home screen. I was scrolling from top to bottom of a very long screen to do what I wanted, not good! I saw the pen icon at the top to go edit the screen and moved my most often used apps (sleep, health, nutrition, etc.) to the top. Much better now.

FitBit: Did you forget who your customers are and how they use your app? It's all about numbers and data, crunching the data, and delivering a best practices presentation to the user. Your new style with subdued colors is very trendy and stylish, but please save that for the fashion industry! Would you use the same color schemes and text sizes in a presentation to management and board of directors? White and light grey, pale pastels, etc. don't provide much contrast for info to jump out at the viewer. You have the same problem on the user's dashboard on the website.

FitBit, you had a 5 star app with version 3.9. That gives you a huge responsibility that anything you do in the future must rise to a very high level of perfection. Please don't remove things people were using, and be very careful about altering how people use the app. Version 4.01 has probably dropped to a 2 star level.

About the battery level, the device reports a number to the app. The app converts the number to a 3 tier level. Save the extra coding and just report the number the way it did in version 3!

Always remember your customers are not captive and you have competition. Keep your customers happy! Let's see what you can do better in 4.1 or even 5.0. It is time to get back on track and focus on your core values.

@KOHM50 hmmm they seem to have blocked her.

I'm trying my hardest to find a device on par with my Versa. I love how Little metal it has, living with #Fibromyalgia means I have a plethora of food and skin sensitivities, including to Nickel. So looking at Watchbands. Used to be a thing of the past.

Because, Fitbit had realised that having too much metal on their bands etc was to their detriment. Sports bands are fantastic 👌 👏

For swimming etc, sauna, sans metal parts. But now Alas, I'm forced back into that Frying Pan of Issues.

I used to have to paint my Stainless steel Watchbands and buckles with Nail polish.

@google has done us Dirty. Our watches/devices may work for now. But the question is how long. ??.

How long till every feature has been removed, our pretty app is gone replaced with something undeserving to be called an (app).

Please ensure you update your feedback on Google Play and the Apple Store. And up vote others comments as well. I'm also posting on Twitter. Because this is just **ahem** annoying.

Consumerism takeover at its worth, with a Shoddy replacement (app). And a Watch that is just a knock off of one design of FitBits.

And it has metal in the band to boot. Nope, I will transition when I find a band I can wear, on something not connecting to Google. Because they destroyed the fantastic history of Fitbit.

Nothing wrong with MS-DOS on its time, in it's place, but we shouldn't be
getting a history lesson from Google. I don't think the app is tracking
my sleep as well as it was, .. I was up all night doing paperwork and it
told me I had had 8 hours sleep !
