Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

Lilybet- The toilet paper rhyming watch has band versions that look like minimal metal is involved. App looks good and price not bad. That will be my next choice when I am tired of looking at my watch (deleted the app already) for info or when it conks out.

The Fitbit app nightmare continues with no respite and end in sight. I am beginning to believe that this is a sociological – marketing – consumer behaviour experiment! Consider this:

  1. It would actually be difficult to design such a horrendous app unless it was done with a purpose. Even the lack of response from Fitbit raises suspicion. It is normal business practice to respond isn't it? Fitbit could easily get a bot or AI system to respond.
  2. It would be of immense value to businesses  to know how consumers react when they are ignored completely. After all ‘ the consumer is always right’ was just something made up and acted on without much thought over the decades.
  3. Most businesses would have to depend on traditional  responses by consumers on email, WhatsApp, telephone etc
  4. Fitbit has the advantage of having this PLUS access to physiological possibly psychological  data of over 100 million users in real time.
  5. This includes: a) heart data b) sleep data c) Stress & mindfulness d) Any changes in activity levels etc
  6.  Much of this is based on Fitbits own algorithms but nevertheless wouldn’t it be of immense value to know how one small change ( the horrendous app) could potentially affect human behaviour?
  7.  Our representations and feedback  on this forum are just a wee fraction of the potential impact.

We can do our own research to see if the change has in anyway impacted our activity level, heart function and stress data.

I’m sort of serious about this  despite it sounding like a delusional, conspiracy theorist to myself

Totally agree and if the app does not go back to the way it was or is improved by another update I will not be renewing my Versa when it is time and will try another fitness tracker.

Yes, agreed.  I really do not like the new look of the app. It’s very barren and looks unfinished. And with so much white it’s hard to find what I want. I understand why people are cancelling bc if the app isn’t enjoyable then why have a Fitbit?

Unless Fitbit and Google want to lose customers they need to Fix the App. I have loved my Journey with Fitbit, from my Original FITBIT HR, as well as my Exhusbands Pebble. To my current Sense3, all fantastic, and each generation more user friendly, especially to someone with #Fibromyalgia whom has to avoid Nickel.
@google please don't kill Fitbit

@MarkIndia

Very good points. And the only place I'm actually getting/seeing any responses and they all seem to be very much bot responses.

Is both direct Emails, or When people have updated their Ratings to 1star, (deserves negative stars). But yes, if you actually update, your rating on Play Store etc, they have been responding, because it going from a 5star app to 3stars in mere weeks is well showing.

We all need to update our Reviews, and make them realise, that we aren't as staunchly loyal, when someone has left a dry unbuttered toast version, instead of a 3 course meal, of an 'app'

If you look up images for the Fitbit app, you see it in all its old glory, which is kinda painful 😳 😬

Strangely enough after several reboots and reinstallations, I actually gone a notification of a WhatsApp message today. Fingers crossed it continues.

I really hate the new look software on the app, it's so dull and boring. The previous display was so colourful and interesting and had all the data I needed. The new look is a huge step back and if it doesn't change I will have to part ways with fitbit. I'm on my 4th device & unless the display changes back to the previous format it will be my last

Adding to all these comments (that Fitbit apparently aren't bothering to read) - the look of the new app is awful.

I realised the other day that I'd barely bothered to open the app at all since the new update (having previously looked at it almost every day)! I don't think you could have managed to design a less visually stimulating UI if you'd tried! It was so easy to absorb so much info at a glance with the previous design, now it all feels vaguely meaningless.

It's so disappointing, Fitbit was such a helpful tool for my ADHD, now my brain can barely focus on it. And I know I'm not the only one, judging from other comments it sounds like Fitbit has managed to alienate its entire disabled userbase in one astonishing move.

This must be an intention killing off of Fitbit, no way they'd stay so silent on such a PR disaster otherwise. What a pity.

I'm wondering if they are cutting costs by not showing/storing all this data. I'm not an IT person (my husband is) so perhaps I should have run this by him before posting. FWIW, he wears an Apple watch on his left arm and a Fitbit Charge 5 on his right arm (he's a data freak).

Couldn't agree more, as a runner, minutes and no seconds for workouts is absolutely useless.

I don't think Google cares. Fitbit users are but a drop in their bucket.
If we all quit Fitbit tomorrow it probably wouldn't even register.

Dear Fit bit. Your new app is extremely ugly. The old one was much, much better. It was easier to navigate and easier to see and understand what I needed. It was more colorful and more pleasing to the eye. It had MORE information in LESS space and LESS clicks. It does not make sense that you have redesigned an app to be more complicated than the old one. That is not an upgrade it's a downgrade, obviously. For example, in the old app if I did some exercise, i could see all the information I needed in one click and in about one or two inches of space, and then previous days below that. It would show me the start and end time, duration of exercise, exercise type, zone minutes, calories burned, and all the zones I hit in a lovely little colorful bar graph, in just a few inches of space, at a glance. Now all that information takes up an ENTIRE PAGE, with so much white space in between, which i still have to scroll all the way to the bottom of to get all the information I want, where it displays the ugliest most useless graph I have ever seen, and light moderate and peak is not as informative as fat burn, cardio and peak, whose idea was it to change that information? I hate it.

@pjvet hmmm you seem to not be here. I don't know what you mean by rhymes with toilet paper watch.

I went through all the ones on Amazon, and they all seem to now have the traditional metal clasps.

With my first Fitbit, I had to keep using 💅 nail polish to protect my skin from.the clasp/buckle.

It will be a nuisance to go back to that, it's all so backwards
