Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

Stepping Up

I don't have much to add to the comments that have already been made about this lamentable update to the Fitbit app., except to say that I shall not be continuing with Premium (why pay for this, when its functionality has been degraded so badly?), and when the time comes to replace my watch, I'll avoid Google's products. I was quite satisfied with my Fitbit until now, but this change to the app has made it clear to me how much that satisfaction was a result of the use of the Fitbit application alongside it, and my pleasure in using the watch has decreased significantly as a result of the recent change. It's actually to the point where I now find the Fitbit app so unpleasant to use, especially compared to its much superior predecessor, that I just can't see myself sticking with the watch beyond the short term.

The reason I'll be avoiding Google's products for my next purchase is that it was Google that made this change. Why risk buying another of their products and risking that this could happen again?

It'll be a little while before I have to make a new purchase, so we'll see if things get better. If so, I'll change my mind. If not, I'll switch to something like Apple. Or Garmin.

LizzyFitbit:

Please review.

Your problem is that you eliminated the “Step Streak” notifications. My
step streak should be 589 days of meeting my daily goal set at 12,500. Your
update stopped it at 561 days.

Add me to the list of those who purchased a competing product. Rhymes with balance.

i am shopping for an Apple fitness watch.  I have been with Fitbit for 10 years.  So sad the programmers don't know how to code.

Yes please return to the prior version of the Fitbit app.

Don't blame it on the programmers. it's most likely people above them that have screwed up. If things don't get changed in a week from now I will be selling my Sense on EBay.

Ditto. The administrator wrote me a message stating that if enough members
say they don't like the new app, then perhaps Google will listen.

Unfortunately, I've found that the only way they listen is to buy a
different fitness watch .

Thank you LizzyFitbit!  My take on the feedback is that we want to see our data again please.  Though my personal preference is to stick to the basics (and I have to, as my Fitbit is a legacy Charge 2!) , even my legacy data is missing from the app.  Only one workout?  Many folks do more than one aerobic activity a day.  Most folks also had much richer data tracking than I, and now it's been dumbed down.  Thank you, Linda

Thanks for the update Lizzy. It appears that all commenters would like consecutive day streak and battery life % back.  A customer friendly response would be appreciated

I realize Google took over fitbit and you want to go your own way but
surely there is some middle ground. You are still advertising fitbit
watches. If you are trying to absorb fitbit why would you do that? Why
would anyone invest in another fitbit?

Where & how do we vote? There’s been hundreds of requests to bring back the step streak and the battery %. Isn’t that enough feedback to add them back in?

Very depressing, it makes me not want to do anything, boring to wake up and see a grey gloomy screen won't motivate me.

I'm not going to use the app I need colour

Beachbum73 - YES! I agree. Please bring the step streak & battery % back at minimum!

PLEASE rollback last update! Features lost and counting:
-Step streak count is gone
-No longer receive irregular rhythm notifications
-Battery percentage is gone
-Can't organize the tiles as the user wants
-Workout stats have disappeared
-Product feedback feature is broken, takes you in a loop
-Bad UI, poor design, white bg's hard on eyes

Google purchased Fitbit to obtain market leading technology, in so doing it
is basically raping Fitbit at this time. Furthermore, it is degrading the
Fitbit app in an attempt to lead the 120 million registered Fitbit users to
Google’s higher priced products.

Top executives at Google have made the business decision to degrade the
Fitbit app in the hope that the majority of 120 million users move to
Google products. Google executives will never admit this publicly, they
lack the intestinal fortitude to admit to their business decision.

I am sure Google ordered a 3rd Party Market Study to base their decision.
If 50% of registered users move to Google at $350 per smartwatch it would =
$21,000,000,000. Google purchased Fitbit for a sum of $2.1 billion in 2019,
this would be a great R.O.I. In the words of the theatrical Mr. Gekko
“Greed is good”!
