Add Interval Training Timer (HIIT) That Buzzes at a Certain Pace

Hello,
I'm excited about the new products. I am a run/walker, and in training for my recent marathon, a friend had a garmin watch that vibrated at certain intervals. (Ex: if I wanted to have a pace of 3min run/1min walk it would vibrate at those intervals to keep me on track).

Now that we know a Fitbit moderator is reading these posts, can you please give us an update? Is Fitbit looking into adding this feature or has the development team decided against it for some reason? We'd appreciate some feedback

Have you seen a reply from a moderator to say they are being read? Starting to doubt it!

Please help!  I've been a fan of Fitbit since the beginning and now might have to look at other trackers because you do not offer interval training.  As a runner I didn't realize when purchasing my Surge this would be a big deal until I started training for a half marathon using the Galloway method.  I also lead a pace group of walk/runners who are running for the first time.  It disappoints me that I have to bring a second device to track ie. run 2 min. walk 30 second.  And it is hard to look at my watch all the time while running to calculate timing, especially with 12 chatty women or on trail runs!

Yes, intervals would be perfect, then i could run with 1 device rather than a Garmin on one arm and fitbit on the other

I agree fibit should be capable of handling intervsl work outs. But since it isnt, i use endomondo app and cell phone do it. Works well without a hassle

Hi there! To set your own custom timers would be nice. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I hope to see this implemented soon! Robot Happy

Hi All,

I posted to this tread when I pruchased my fitbit Surge back in January. At the time of purchase the sales assistant told me the fitbit had an interval setting. Obviously this was incorrect and I was not rapt about it (not Fitbits fault of course-they didn't sell it to me directly). It is clear from this tread alone, that an interval feature is a highly sought after however there appears to be no plans from Fitbit to incorporate this feature into Surge (surely could be achieved through software update). I guess the question Fitbit needs to ask itself is, "does fitbit want to be a fitness watch that incorporates all fitness levels with differing functions, or is Fitbit content being a glorified pedometer?"

I'd love an answer to this question, and if there are definitely no plans to add an interval feature I think I will "upgrade" to a Garmain or similar.

Cheers

I love my Fitbit blaze but it could really use a way to track intervals. Something like a "lap" feature could work for this, especially if you could just touch a button during and interval workout to switch between walk and run or jog and sprint, then see the intervals in the post exercise graphs.

Interval training would be an amazing feature to have. Between everyone who does the Couch to 5k or the 10k training, even those that use the Galloway running.  I believe that even on the Charge, you can have it set like an alarm, and have it read Walk or Run depending on what its time to do.  Like a lot of people saying, we understand it might drain the battery a little quicker, but I usually rest and shower after my run, and thats another time I am charging my fitbit. But it would be a lot simpler that trying to have three different apps running on my phone, trying to start and stop.  Using the Fitbit GPS, to track how far I have actually ran, the C25k training app telling me when to walk or run, and if its in my pocket, I might not hear it, and then I have music playing as well.

Just something to think about since everyone seems to want it.

Love my Surge but now training for a marathon, I would love it to prompt me for 10 and 1's on long run days...don't want to watch the clock all the time or bring other tech along.

I love my Charge HR and am considering hopping up to a Blaze for the additional features, but I can't justify it till it has interval training timers built in.  Just simple how long are the intervals and how many cycles is all I want!  Cmon guys!  I cannot be that tough to have an option to set interval timers in the app!!

Sure would be nice if a future update was to add interval training to Blaze and Surge

Hi Fitbit powers that be!

Like everyone here, I LOVE my Fitbit and would absolutely love to be able to stay in the Fitbit family with all my tracker devices. But my intervals are an absolute necessity!

With the amount of action this thread is getting, I know your loyal consumers would love any form of an update you might have. There's a huge demand for it and we'd love to hear if our waiting will be over any time soon! Thanks for all you do!

This is the last feature that causes me to still use my Garmin ForeRunner 610, if you add this to the Blaze or Surge, it would be a slam dunk.

This is the one feature I am really disappointed the Blaze does not have...

However, since these comments seem to go back 2 years, and it is still not available, I get the feeling that FitBit doesnt actually care about the features that people are asking for.

Starting to feel like Fitbit might not really care what features we might like. Maybe they are pro intervaless training?

Inovative ... er yes ... they been working on telling us when to go tobed .... 'Time for bed' ... Would be awesome if they concentrated on the fittness..? Not being picky or rude ... but I turned the time to go to bed feature off ... now I have to run with TABATA on the mobile ... to interval train ... would be awesome ... if I could set heart rate minimum and maximum ... that I need to train in ... OR vibrates .. once to GO! twice or 3 times to STOP! (30 seconds on and 10 off) Many of us would purchase that feature from the store? hint ... hint...
